Archery Classes at Palms

Post by Mark

I’ve posted about archery classes in Kuwait a couple of times already, but they seem to be moving the classes to different spots. Right now they’ve started offering the archery classes at the Palm Beach Resort every Friday and Saturday. The classes are for both kids and adults, so if you’re interested in taking up a new activity, you can whatsapp them on +96566013056 for more details.

Learn Archery at the Mayadeen Shooting Complex

Post by Mark

Here is another new activity if you’re looking for something new to experience. the Mayadeen Shooting Complex is now offering archery lessons. The lessons are open to every one, men, women, Kuwaitis and expats. The cost is KD7 for 30 minutes and all equipment is supplied. Long term coaching is also available.

Previously, archery lessons were only available to Kuwaitis at the Kuwait Shooting Federation so its great that Mayadeen is now offering it to everyone. For more information check out the Mayadeen Shooting Complex instagram account @mayadeenq8

Does anyone know where expats can get archery lessons in Kuwait? I contacted the Kuwait Archery National Team on Facebook asking about lessons and they told me the Kuwait Shooting Federation offers lessons but it’s only for Kuwaitis.

Archery at Discovery

Post by Mark

I passed by Discovery Mall with some friends from work to have lunch and noticed they had an archery section set up. Turns out for this month only you can go and shoot arrows at fake deers, beavers and bears. The setup is pretty nice and the price is KD1 for 6 arrows. Discovery Mall is located right next to the ice skating rink.

Join the Boy Scouts of America

Post by Mark

With more than 135 Merit Badges—from Archery and Art to Welding and Wilderness Survival—Scouting is the ultimate form of learning by doing. Boy Scouts explore their interests and improve their skills while working toward Scouting’s highest rank: Eagle. By first imagining, planning then doing their own service projects, Boy Scouts learn the value of hard work, and experience the thrill of seeing it pay off. Add in outdoor adventures, hiking and camping, and Scouting gives boys all the experience they need to become men.

I used to be a boy scout when I was a kid and loved it which is why I’m posting this. Boy Scout Troop 938 that are based out of ASK (American School of Kuwait) sent me a flyer to share on the blog. They’re recruiting members aged between 11-18 years old to join their troop. Here is the flyer with more information and contact details [Flyer]

Winter Land Carnival

Post by Mark

winterland

Last week the Winter Land Carnival opened up so I decided to pass by to check it out. It was freezing cold on Thursday night when I went but that just added to the experience instead of taking away from it. Winter Land is a fairly large setup and one you can see from a distance as you’re driving up. It’s mainly for children with the whole thing divided into two main are, entertainment and food.

For kids entertainment they have a number of activities include a large outdoor ice skating rink, a large ranch where kids can pet animals or ride ponies, a large archery section, some bouncy castles and a few other smaller games as well. The food area stretches from one side of the carnival all the way to the other with a ton of different food vendors to choose from although most of them had a similar menu involving either burgers or some sort of Nutella based dessert.

All in all though everyone looked like they were having fun including the friends and families who were manning some of the food stalls. The carnival will be up until February 20th so if you want to pass by and need more info, click [Here]
