Two days ago I saw the weirdest thing on TV. Me (Me=Nat) and Mark were watching one of the sports channels and a show started called the Naked Womens Wrestling League. At first we expected something like some lame mud wrestling show but instead it turned out to be exactly like the WWF with a huge wrestling arena surrounded by fans yelling and screaming. The biggest difference was instead of huge well built topless men fighting, their were chicks wrestling and they were COMPLETELY NAKED! Not even a bikini or a thong on! It was really strange watching them wrestle and they were getting into these really weird positions where we could see all their private parts sticking out. We watched them for 10 minutes before we had to go and watch CSI.
This can’t be happening, what will happen to the Reebok Pumps?? I hope Adidias doesn’t rebrand all of Reeboks sneakers to Adidias. I really love the Pump Fury’s, would hate it if they became Adidas Pump Furys… [Link]
Finally the NHL lockout has ended. After having the whole NHL season canceled, things are back on track. The biggest surprise to me were some of the new rule changes. Firstly no game will end in a draw now, if there is a draw the teams will go into a shootout until one team comes out the victor. Other changes include the goalkeepers gloves and pads which will shrink in size to make it harder for them to protect the net. For more details on the new rules and salary caps, hit the link. [Link]

A couple of days ago I posted a link with the past logos of the Olympics, today I am posting about the Beijing 2008 logo, the upcoming Olympic games that will be held in China.
According to some sources, the following it the meaning behind the Beijing 2008 logo:
The official emblem of Beijing 2008 entitled “Chinese Seal-Dancing Beijing” cleverly combines the Chinese seal and the art of calligraphy with sporting features, transforming the elements into a human figure running forward and embracing triumph. The figure resembles the Chinese character “Jing”, which stands for the name of the host city and represents a particularly significant Chinese style. The artwork embodies four messages:
- Chinese culture,
- the color of red China
- Beijing welcomes friends from all over the world
- to challenge the extreme and achieve the perfect and promote the Olympic motto of “Citius, Altius, Fortius (Faster, Higher, Stronger).
I personally don’t like the logo because I prefer the one below. Its the one Beijing used when they were bidding for the Olympics. But according to officials, “to safeguard the interests of the Olympic sponsors, it had to have a new one.” I don’t know what that means but they basically had to create a new logo which is the one they are using now.

Here is more information on the new logo
Here is more information on the old logo

Here is a link to all the past Olympics logos. I think the 1972 Munich one is very trippy but my favorite is Mexico from 1968. [Link]

The final decision was made a few moments ago. London who will be hosting the 2012 Olypmpic Summer Games after Paris, NewYork, Moscow and Madrid got eliminated in the four round voting sessions.

I just read this article below and I think its ridiculous, how could David Beckham not have the rights to a tattoo located on his own body??
—————–
David Beckham is facing a legal battle over who owns the right to his tattoos, because body artist Louis Malloy fears the British soccer star is making money from his designs.
Malloy designed and inked nine of Beckham’s tattoos, including the famous guardian angel on his upper back, and is determined to sue should the Real Madrid ace use the images in an advertising campaign.
The 42-year-old claims Beckham, who is married to ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, tried to force him to sign a confidentiality agreement, but he refused.
Malloy says, “I was contacted recently and told they wanted to use some of them in a campaign. I said we’d have to draw up a license agreement but then it got too complicated. So I said, ‘I own the copyright, they are my intellectual property, I drew them, I didn’t copy them from other sources.’
“They still think they’re the owners of the images but if they use them without my permission I’d sue. There’s no doubt about it.” [Source]
For the past 9 months since I came to Kuwait I have been looking for a decent gym that wouldn’t exceed my budget. The first one I signed up to, was located in my building. It was pretty big, only for women but really crap. The machines they had looked like they have been around since world war II. Also In the Aerobics class, the mats were so thin that I ended up having bruises on my behind for a whole week after attending only 1 class. All of this and it wasn’t even that cheap, it was KD40 per month, so I ended up going a couple of times then I was like fuck it.
After my miserable experience, I went to check out Flex. The place turned out pretty nice, yet it was really expensive. If I remember correctly it was around KD600 for 6 months. I considered it as my last resort/option if nothing better and cheaper turns up.
From there I went to see Palms which also turned out to be not very cheap plus it was too popular for my taste. Hilton and Crown plaza had decent prices but their locations were too far and inconvenient.
I thought my search had ended when I heard about this average gym called mabroor located in Salmiya which seemed good since it was next to my workplace and house. I went to check it out and it seemed OK. The machines they had were neither too old nor too new, it was big and pretty affordable (KD25 per month). But, there were two problems. (1) It opened only 3 times a week and (2) closing time was 8pm which was not very practical since I finish work around 5.30-6 pm everyday.
I went to Mabroor for a month. Then I decided to start looking around again. Finally I was lucky enough to find out about Holiday Inn (Salmiya) from Mark. They supposingly had this really good offer which was KD250 per couple for a whole year. We went to check it out right away. It’s a cool place, the gym is medium size, and they have a medium swimming pool outside. When we asked about the offer it eventually turned out that it was KD250 for single women KD450 for a couple for a year which was still a very good offer and pretty cheap. So I finally signed up a couple of days ago and Im also trying to make Mark sign up and cut down on the Junk food which is pretty much mission impossible.
Misguided has a video of a Kuwaiti soccer mom. I just watched it and it was really hillarious and so very true. Samir Sa3eed rulez! [Link]
