Cheap digital waterproof camera

I saw the camera above on Gizmodo today. It’s a digital camera that’s waterproof and costs just KD10. Seems like the perfect thing to take to the chalet on weekends and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. It’s a 1.3MP camera which doesn’t sound like much but it’s more than you need for Facebook or posting on a blog. It also shoots video but from what I read the quality isn’t that great. In case you drop it the camera floats on the water which is pretty cool as well.

Anyway here is the link to the camera on [Amazon]

Update: My friend just told me he got the Kodak camera above from Amazon for KD18. It’s 12MP and looks a lot cooler than the KD10 camera I originally posted. It also comes in 3 colors. Here it is on [Amazon]

I got it for my son… But we couldn’t take the plastic cover off when we needed to develop the film. We tried using a hammer at the end… Felt stupid.
Still not open by the way … Broken.. But not open.

HA!… funny comment, but it was obvious that the commenter didn’t have a clue… (my advice, it’s probably a disposable, you need to take the whole thing to get it developed).

the 10KD camera is probably limited to like 3m…and in case the water does come in, salt water is a killer on any sort of electronic device.

the Kodak also doesn’t seem like it’s got much depth to it… ones that cna go up to 18 m are quirte pricey

What happens if I take these cameras to 50m?

cheap gives a very bad image for anything. Better you say low price, affordable, low cost, well priced anything but not cheap. Thanx

I got te Kodak one last weekend and tried it out.. It has nice options but nothing too advanced and very easy to use. I took some underwater shots and videos and they turned out in good quality.. Only downside if you zoom to take a picture it’s slightly pixilized but all in all I’m glad to have purchased one :)

I bought the kodak for my nephew. 3 meters is fine for taking pics by the pool or beach. I think this camera is for the average person who spends summer holidays swimming not diving! Good price!

  14. LizQ8 says:

@AMJD where is the playsport sold?

for swimming pool use, put your digital cam(point&shot) in a transparent zip bag.. :P
