Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa on stage in Cannes
A friend and colleague of mine who’s attending the Cannes Lions right now tweeted some pictures of Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa (Creator of The99) on stage presenting. I believe he’s the only Kuwaiti to ever take the stage at the Cannes Lions yet alone present.
The Cannes Lions is one of the largest and most prestigious advertising festivals in the world.

The first time I saw him speak was on TED (online not in person) then I read about the challenges he had with launching 99. Very interesting man.
that is so cool! he has visited our school several times and the story behind how he did the 99 is amazing!

My friends brother, Fabian Sweeney, is an actor in one of the short films showing in the Cannes Festival.

His educational background is AMAZING. Triple majoring in Tufts as an undergraduate, getting an MBA in Columbia and getting his PhD in Long Island University – inspirational!

I have seen Dr Naif visit my school 3 times (I think) and really love the comics. Im very happy to see that he has gone so far!
