Oh I didn’t know that back in the 1970′s Kuwait had the 4 colour flag “Black, Green, White, and Red.”
Please, next time update yourself before you post a topic because I’m 99% sure that the new flag did not exist before our freedom back in 1991.

When I was in school I was told that the “green” resembles “freedom”, red or black resembles “Iraqi invasion”, and black (if I’m not mistaken ed) resembled “oil” and I forgot about the white color.

Classy Kuwait ! No foam No gangs of kids with water guns, No Hailag (low class) guys & girls. Even when am having a coffee at the Avenues watching those weird ppl wondering “how come this duck feathers hijab & tiger pants lady became a Kuwaiti citizen ” !

Lol today t’s not just Kuwaities celebrating. Thugs from other gulf countries come in and harass chicks, other arab countries put up their flags like it’s some kind of defiance… it’s a riot.

Fantastic! It’s simply amazing how clean Kuwait used to be, unlike now. This picture presentation is a cri du coeur for outsourcing of the Baladiya services to the municipality of Abu Dhabi.
Kuwait is the only country in the world that celebrates its national holidays with anarchy.
I’m speculating here but I think the civility, manners, and happiness of Kuwaitis (and migrants) back in the 70′s compared to now is most likely due to the low population and less crowding that came along with it.
Anyone feel the same way?

Do they still do parades? If not I think they should! It will give a chance for everyone to gather and schools could come up with great floats!
The reason we have the current chaos instead of these civilized parades is because after the invasion all parades and celebrations were suspended in solidarity with our POW’s… this of course created a vacuum in which people just crowded the Gulf Road in their cars, some guys started spraying foam and it became the annual madness that we see to this day. You’d think the trend would go out of style but apparently not
The MOI has tried and failed to control it but it is simply overwhelmed. In any case, a general lawlessness can be felt in all areas of life in Kuwait so these few days of madness are just a fact of life every year.
This would never happen in a country with enough entertainment outlets for its frustrated pent up teenagers with their raging hormones. The MOI lets the kids release all that energy on this weekend only

This is how people waste their time. Nationalism is chaos.
I think it is about time we went back to the old way of doing things. Kuwait seemed to have been a much more sophisticated place. Now, we are crowded by ignorance and extremism that will probably try and prevent a “new-old” Kuwait.
Seriously though, the photos make me jealous that what could be, had once been, yet is not.
