Earthquake Hits Kuwait

I’m out of the country right now so didn’t experience it but looks like an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 hit Kuwait around 7:30 in the morning. [Source]

i got woken up by it, i thought it was my kid trying to wake me up, then i realised everything is shaking not just me…
I didn’t realize it was an earthquake! It was very soft and smooth. I thought I had bad gas! :P

Made me jump out of my bed and hit the table! Scared the sh*t out of me!
cant be 4 .. must be less. I felt it and felt a 4.5 in san diego . This was much weaker.. where did you source the strength from

That’s not how earthquake intensity works, 4.5 is a lot stronger than a 4.2, it’s a logarithmic scale

Pretty much. I didn’t know an earthquake occurred until I read it here.
It was one of the longer quakes I’ve felt in Kuwait (if not the longest).

Yes… I did feel it.. I was sitting on a mattress on the floor and the mattress started swaying… I was quite scared… shouted and woke up other people in the house… no one else believed me earlier… but now since its on the internet they believe it :-D
so what !! are we going to have anymore soon!! guys tell me ?? are we going 2be like Japan or what?

IT HAPPENED ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE IRAQI INVASION.
Indeed it happened on the morning where Kuwaiti men died defending whatever left of Kuwaiti boarders. Kinda like a wake up call… sadly, it went unnoticed. Everyone got out of bed and moved on in their lives with no lessons learned.

I was about to sleep after being awake the whole night & suddenly my couch started moving like hell, the floor seemed to be moving & it all lasted for around 7 seconds.

I KNEW IT! I felt something but I wasn’t sure, I thought it was the people upstairs jumping about or something….
I’ve been awake the whole time, didn’t feel anything, I’m guessing it was on the north side or something?
Was watching the tele, felt the couch sway a little.. thought my mind was in overdrive coz of less sleep :-P
did’nt feel anything, i was in South Surra (Zahrah) that time… hoping no more quakes to come…
OMG it was so scary and it woke me up and made me jump out of bed and hit the side table. I rushed for shelter and I nearly cried. Every thing was moving and swaying. It was so scary. OMG

I was chilling on my bed checking out stuff online, and I started to feel the bed shake. I wasn’t sure if it was just me, or if it was an earthquake. I looked at my lights, they’re hanging off the ceiling, and they were not moving, so I assumed it must have just been me. Woke up, and found out an earthquake happened. So it wasn’t just me. il7amdila it wasn’t a big one.
So the earthquake war has finally begun..

Hmm i was sleeping that time and didn’t feel anything then my father told me that there was an earthquake in kuwait, so it made me google it on the internet :p.
Maybe this is just a small earthquake that will only happen once or a few times in kuwait O – O
I probably didn’t feel it cause i’m on the ground floor :|
guys i read the news about the earthquake and for those who have galaxy s2 or android mobile please download an application called EARTHQUAKE ALERT…this application will detect the magnitude of earthquakes and its epicenter world wide and for those who felt any shake mostly it’s not a 4.2 magnitude for many reasons…first the ussg earthquake center in hawaii detects earthquakes that are 3 or more but in the map and their website it wasnt recorded or detected which means it was less than 3 and yesterday they spread the news that it was around 2.3 and i was in japan last year in tokyo and i felt one with magnitude between 4 and 5!!!! so from my experience i can tell the difference from what i had and this small earthquakes they happened everyday world wide and its normal and one of the reasons could be oil drilling underground and could be from the trench of 6abaqat el ar`6( the earth plate )…put in mind that iran has active earthquakes from each time to time and a big one in iran could be normally felt in other countries depending on its depth and magnitude… the earthquake alert application helped me alot and it has satellite map that shows the details and its good!!! hoped i helped here ;)
