FIFA suspend Kuwait for governmental meddling

I read about this earlier today on Forza’s blog and a reader (Lexicon) awhile ago sent me another link with a bit more info. It really sucks to see Kuwait fall back like this from its glory days in the 70s and 80s. [Link]

glory days of the 80′s? you mean when Kuwait embarrassed itself when the ‘Sheikh of sports’ came down the pitch and stopped the match? FIFA should have suspend Kuwait right then.

Did you know that in 1998 Kuwait was ranked 28th on the FIFA rankings? Now it’s ranked 115. Gambia, Tanzania and Namibia are all better than Kuwait.
