Find out about your traffic violations by SMS

The Ministry of Interior launched a new service where you can sign up to receive notifications on your traffic violations by SMS. They will also send you a notification when your Civil ID or car registration are about to expire among other things.

The subscription fee is KD1 and then it’s 40fils per SMS. If you want to sign up click [Here]

    Surely with the kind of fees they collecta across the service, the alerts could be provided at no cost. Early collection means time value of money as well….In any case, bulk SMS from any of the providers costs no more than 11to 12 fils per message. Looks like there is a load of 28 fils going somewhere. Probably an external contract has been given to run this service with jingling tills ! and happy smiles all around !

    Hope they would also include notifications of Travel Bans as well so that it doesn’t inconvenience people at the very last moment.

    Would I have to register separately for each family member ( i.e. on dependent visas)?

    i have gotten two tickets of traffic violation , taking the passenger in my private car. now my computer is blocked and i can not submit my fine.
    what is the best possible and easier way to pay my fine.
