  1. More hotels, more competition, cheaper rooms. GOOD

i’ve been there for a training once, beautiful place but the smell in that area gets annoying :)

  3. I was there recently and its a nice and pretty looking hotel. Just not as nice as it looks in the picture :-)

personally i think its really overpriced.

Otherwise its a decent hotel, the room service food isn’t up to standard though.

They going to have the biggest convention centre in Kuwait !!

  6. Jaber says:

Been there a few times. Aside from the nice decorations, the hotel is a piece of crap. The service sucks and the staff is not qualified to run a 5-star hotel. The overall experience just feels fake.

Wonder what’s the average occupancy rate of hotels in Kuwait. Who comes to Kuwait on holiday and stay in these hotels?

    gallery link not working?

  9. Desert Girl says:

Oh – Desert Sky – last time I heard, occupancy rates were around 30%. The only way the hotels can discount a room is if they sell as “long term stay”. Only a percentage of a hotel’s rooms are allocated as long term, however.

Banditos got a monopoly on everything…

FYI – Kuwait has a little over 8mil airport passengers per year, of which 15% are leisure trips. Kuwait visitors are 50% from Arab countries, and about 25% from Europe. Occupancy was 54% in 2010. Average room rates have always been very high in Kuwait (over 200$) and is one of the highest in the region (241$ in 2010), along with Beirut (264$) and Riyadh (261$).source 2011 ME Hotel Survey HVS.com

Why would they want their pic removed from one of the most popular blogs in Kuwait…..don’t they have a license to operate yet????

you actually listen to a “request”? why????? since when???

Kuwait’s 5 star hotels are run by the Hotels Association, a cartel not unlike OPEC.

I stayed at many 5 star Dubai hotels and they have lower rates, which attracts competition and more services.

The only thing that differentiates the 5 star hotels here are the location and what restaurants they have.

Waiting for Messilah Beach Hotel (if it ever opens).
