RC Season Soon

Last time I took out my radio controlled cars out was back in February when the weather was good and my brother took the picture above. Since then my cars have been hibernating due to the bad weather. But, I just took my Tamiya Lancia out with the upgraded Super Stock RZ motor and was having a good time until the stock electronic control unit (ECU) overheated. And thats when I remembered what I liked about these cars. I like upgrading the different parts and I like the fact that when something breaks I can fix it.

This season I think I want to get the Tamiya Unimog although I am still dreaming of the Mammoth truck but its just too expensive. The Tamiya dealer My Toy has also opened a larger store in Tilal Complex which I still need to pass by and check out. They’ve also set up a large race track in the basement for people to race their cars on. This RC season should turn out to be a lot of fun.

Have you been up to the world’s largest RC off road track at the science club yet?

  2. Mark says:

No I haven’t. My off road cars are a Tamiya Frog and a Lunchbox so don’t think would have a lot of fun with them on a track. They’re meant to be bashed around :D

Always wanted to buy one specially an off roader
but i dont have place & time for that ! ;/

  4. Mathai says:

Mark do they also sell Tamiya tools and paint ? I need to buy a plastic cutter and a can of top coat (flat)

  5. Mark says:

yes, i keep buying paint for my lunchbox since after every outing it needs a complete paint job hehehe

  6. Mathai says:

thanks ! but dont you think the scars would give the lunchbox a little more character ?

  7. Mark says:

scars yes, but i am talking about more than scars. I don’t use any kind of top coat to keep it very military flat green so the paint job doesn’t handle the abuse.

I used to run my RC cars about 3 times a week in the science club, i’m just waiting for Tamiya new RC track, the owner promesed us for some up-coming races. I just love to race…. but most races here are for 1/8 nitro off-road and 1/10 nitro on-road. I talked to one guy who used to manage the races in the club, he said that this season we will make a open-class electric race on our on-road track.

If any one intrested in electric RC racing, please give your number to Tamiya so that we can make an intense racing!

i like much more the drift cars
and i enjoy the driftting in tilal mall in the temporary track in the basement.
So i think drift cars is better cuz u can use the car every where .no need for a special track for the drift

  14. Mark says:

I like flying my cars off jumps and seeing how much abuse they can take :D

  15. Mr.pedro says:

LoL mark mine is Clear coat there is clear coat glossy and clear coat matte << thats what you'll need

  16. Patrick says:

There’s nothing more enjoyable then taking them out to the desert and abusing the Tamiya’s.

  17. SWOS says:

The unimog looks gr8, better than the old Toyota with the same chasis.

needs a cool paint-job like orange or something similar.

  18. Mark says:

I have a friend here in Kuwait who is refurbishing a Unimog, mechanically the truck is working perfectly now he just needs to fix the bodywork.
