ubon : noodles rice curries

There’s a new local creation called ubon opening up soon in my office building. I checked out their website and this is the description:

Ubon, a contemporary Thai restaurant specializes in curries, rice & noodles. Located in the heart of Kuwait city, Ubon is perfect for a quick lunch break or for a relaxing night out dinner. Ubon serves flavorful Thai food in a hip, modern and welcoming atmosphere.

Seems like its going to be cool. [Link]

If they make good larb salad and a decent chicken satae (with proper sauce), I’m there.

So far the best Thai place is the one around the corner from that Shawarma place – Do Do Du Du .. on that road at the end of Amman street.

Ubon Ratchathani is a city in the south-east of the Isan region of Thailand. It is known as Ubon for short. The name means “Royal Lotus City.”

They stole the name from Nobu’s sister restaurant in London…

Ubon is a restaurant in Canary Wharf in London- same chain as Nobu( hence the name: “Nobu” backwards)… When I first saw the title of the post, got excited expecting it to be the same!A fan of Thai food, but name is misleading for those who are familiar with the original “Ubon”. Hope the food will be good.
