Grand Cinemas Opening this Friday

The largest cinema chain in the Middle East is opening in Hamra Tower this coming Friday with the movie Skyfall. The theater once open will have a total of 9 screens with one of them being a VIP theater which I’ve previously been told will rival those of Dubai. [Link]

How do we book a ticket online? or do we have to go there and stand in line like the good old days?

  2. Terry Huff says:

Will the movies be censored…? (Also, will there be seafood served to us? I love seafood! :D)

What is the use of rivalry if good movies are banned in Kuwait but not Dubai !

Do anyone knows when the reservation will begin (26 October or before)

  12. Censor censorship says:

How do they propose to keep all the Dicks away from all the Janes in the cinema? Free seating without segregation will be a bit much for Kuwait, I should imagine. Enough to make parliamentarians (once there is a parliament that is) to squirm in their seats and create a ruckus over it!
It will be manna from heaven if they can introduce cell phone jammers inside the cinema to keep all the cell fone addicted riffraff at bay.

    • The Real Burhan says:

The VIP screens at Cinescape have no segregation; and they have been around for quite a while. So all that drama is not necessary.

Also, some screens at Cinescape have already employed cell phone jammers – its not universal, but it is available at some of their locations.

However, being a HUGE James Bond fan, I would rather get a bunch of friends together and fly to Dubai to watch it as it was intended.

And Price, What about the price ? I hope it’s not skyrocketing….

  15. For the Love of Cinema says:

Looks like on any given day there are more people in Kuwait enthused about the F & B concession at the movies than they are about the content or the films screening at the cinema. Early indications are Grand Cinemas @ Al Hamra will make for a superb tapas place. Too bad you can’t have your sangria to go with it.

How do we find out the movie length in Kuwait (to judge how much is cut)? imdb says its 143m.
