Katsuya by S+ARCK coming to Kuwait

Alshaya announced today that they’ll be bringing the franchise Katsuya by S+ARCK to Kuwait and the region. Unlike the other brands they’ve previous acquired this is probably the first one I haven’t heard of before. This is the description of what Katsuya is on their website:

Featuring the dynamic pairing of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and design impresario Philippe Starck, Katsuya by Starck is truly a feast for the senses. With specialty cocktails, unique rolls and spectacular sushi and sashimi platters, Chef Uechi skillfully translates Japanese flavors to the American palate. Signature dishes include Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño and Miso-Marinated Black Cod. With superb talent and exacting precision, Katsuya by Starck is changing the face of Japanese cuisine.

I should convince my dad to sell the family business and open a Japanese or burger restaurant; screw contracting.

This is not just another restaurant. This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in the world, on par with Nobu and Zuma. It is my fav restaurant in LA and the food is to die for. I just hope they dont screw it up by substituting for local ingredients and losing all the flavor. This is the first restaurant i am actually excited about that is opening in Kuwait. I really hope it opens outside a mall, though. It really doesn’t belong in one.
