Dance Like Nobody’s Watching
Posted by MarkDance Like Nobody’s Watching is a cool concept that has been floating on YouTube for awhile now. The idea is you go to a public place, put on your headphones and then dance as if you’re at home alone while recording yourself doing it. After posting a video on 248PM last week called “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching: Airport“, I decided I wanted to do one as well. And I did. I headed to Souk Mubarkiya, found a cool spot and then recorded myself dancing to a song. It was hilarious and a lot of fun since no one around me knew what the hell was going on since they couldn’t hear any music and all they saw was some random white guy dancing in the middle of the road.
This was supposed to be just a quick test because I wanted to see if I had the balls to actually do it but a short clip got leaked out (complicated story) and somehow it ended up on YouTube which you can watch above. Since this was just a trial video I’m not planning to upload the full version online but the second one should be better and that one I’ll definitely upload onto YouTube myself. [YouTube]

But good for you! I only dance in my car, that’s about as far as I’ll go when it comes to public dancing.

You could do a “Dance Miskan” and dance in front of a new spot every day for year :D
It could be called “Danskan” or something.
You could also compile 1-2 second clips from each day, and make a dance/music video.
It might go viral and beat the gangam style :D
lol! that’s hilarious. But if you decide to do it at the avenues or something, make sure you don’t jog up to people while maintaining strong eye contact like you did in the video. People have been stabbed for less, literally.

i can’t dance for shit but i just wanted to have a bit of fun. the hardest part was actually trying to figure out dance moves But i’m getting some help on that. i actually did two videos, this one where i danced to Chromeo’s Fancy Footwork song and the second in a different location (the square in front of the old post office in souk mubarkia) where I just bashed to Foo Fighters – The Pretender.
if the music from the video is actually what you were listening to, then I can’t conceive of any other way to dance aside from the stationary jogging you did.

The dance of the girl in the airport was well coreographed but also the frame was good and i liked that the people since they were waiting in line had to stayed for the whole time there but since they were standing and waiting in line they gave the girl some space for the performance…. Im really looking forward to see what you come up with, bet it’ll be a nice one.
