No Piercing
I got back from my vacation a couple of days ago and I started work again on Monday. So it was my first day at work and to my big surprise management calls me up to tell me I can’t show my piercing at work. Since I was about to leave I didn’t say anything and I went to Kuwait City to meet up with Mark. The next day I came in to work with my piercing still on to my managements big surprise. I was ready to give them a piece of my mind. I’m a fucking creative in a creative field, both my personality and my looks reflect it, If I wanted to work in a bank and wear a uniform like everybody else I would have. Nobody dictates to me what to wear or how I should look like. Why does an eyebrow piercing differ from an ear piercing? Does it insinuate that I’m a whore or a punk perhaps? People please give me a break, this is totally ridiculous. If people are not willing to accept me for who I am then I’ll just have to look elsewhere where others would. At the end we came to a compromise, I was allowed to keep my piercing on during office hours but whenever I am to see clients which is like once a year, I will have to find a way to cover it. I found the compromise good enough since I never see any clients anyway. Conclusion: My piercing is here to stay!
However here’s a link I found on some important things u need to know before you get a piercing.

i think if your job is to meet clients you should look the best and shouldn’t have what some people might think isn’t nice ( like piercing for example ) but if your job is to sit in a room and draw or type on a pc why do they care what you wear ?

Yeah Laila but there are worst things in Kuwait than just Tattoos or piercings.. It depends on each person’s prefrences.
Forza I’m graphic designer, My job is to basically sit in front of my mac and design everyday..I rarely meet clients. I’ve met 2 clients since I started working in my company and I have been working here for the past 7 months and Each of my clients I’ve only seen twice. And again who decides if a piercing is nice or not, it depends on the prefrences of each and one of us. Im not telling you I have metal all over my face and my job is to see clients on daily basis. In my case it was totally ridiculous to suggest that I have to have my piercing removed. If u see it u would understand what im talking about:)

Hi
I believe it makes no sense, whether you were seeing clients or not, to have to give away what you like and how you look.
If we allow this to progress, it will be the colour of one’s underwear soon, or if they wore thongs Vs. Breifs.
Is your piercing any diffrent than the nose one that indians have, does that mean they have to put it on and off when ever its not allowed.
Iam glad you stood your ground.

And how are you supposed to cover it up when meeting a client? do they expect a pair of sunglasses for example? that would freak the client lol

hello shrink, Believe it or not long before I came to my company they use to have color coding in their policy manual, meaning which color combinations employees were allowed to wear and not wear. I had to make a stand:)
Ufz great suggesion, hehe. I will go buy me a huge ass pair of versace or prada glasses (I’ve seen huge ones that i like already) and I’ll put them on for my meetings, management cant say anything since I’ll be covering not just my piercing but my whole face:)
Nibaq u wish dude:p
Edjamacated guy, there’s alot of piercing places in Lebanon, some I know of and some I dont, some are proffessionals others not. If you refer to my first piercing post, http://248am.com/nat/personal/piercing/
I mention that I got my piercing in Frimousse, One of the first piercing places in lebanon, The shop is pretty close to what was mentioned in my link. The room looked like a doctors’ room, very sterile environment, they also had proper sterilized jewelry and the chick who did the piercing for me certainly knew what she was doing.
