Bomb rocks Kaslik, Lebanon
Posted by NatMy sister and I had just finished watching a dvd and we were getting ready to go to bed when we heard a loud explosion which seemed not very distant from where we live. We both jumped up to the balcony, we opened the glass and we saw a rising cloud of smoke not very distant from the area where we live. We waited up to see if anything else was happening but we couldn’t hear any fire-truck alarms or any ambulances in the area so we assumed it wasn’t a big deal since we couldn’t sense any activity in the area after the loud explosion was heard. We then turned the TV on to check if anything was being said about the matter but nothing was being displayed there either, So we assumed it wasn’t a big deal and we went back to bed. The explosion happened at exactly 1.20am. 30 minutes later one of my sisters’ friends calls her up and tells her a bomb rocked Altavista Center in Kaslik where her Dads’ shop was located and that everything was totally destroyed. I turn the TV back on to see nothing but a poor Display on all the Local News TV stations stating that a bomb rocked a center in Kaslik and that there were 2 dead and 3 wounded so far. A few minutes later they start broadcasting Live from the crime scene. The whole street was affected, glass was everywhere. The Altavista Center was completely in ruin. To think I was just there this morning doing some last minute shopping gives me chills down my spine. We also just heard a bomb had been placed on the escalator inside the center. It’s almost unreal to think something this horrible could happen to a place located only a few minutes away from my house. Nobody can feel safe here anymore.

Glad nothing happend. And good to know your coming back soon to Kuwait where all we have to worry about is your driving.
