I just finished upgrading my blog to the latest wordpress and I also went ahead and changed the look of the website.
I don’t like change and I hate it when people redesign their sites. You get so used to something and then overnight things change and its usually not a smooth transition. I tried not to change too much in the structure, I tried to focus more on making things clearer and easier to read while also adding some color to give it some life. The old look was really starting to feel pale and I was really starting to dislike it. I needed a change and I figured now would be the perfect time.
There are still some minor issues I need to fix but in general this is how the blog is going to look like. I will be working on various font options in the coming days and hopefully that will work out nicely. I wasn’t able to test the site on various browsers and systems so if you encounter a problem please tell me about it so I could try to fix it. Thank you.
Note: Please do a hard refresh (hold down shift and click on reload) to clear out my blogs old files. That should solve minor problems.

It looks good but this keeps coming up for me a every few things i click:

and it comes up in a big red box.. dunno what it is
also my comments arent posting right.. they go to a php page as if what i did really screwed up the system.. really dont know whats going on!

I think that might be the biggest change, to go back to the main page click on “Home” on top. I might rename it actually to “Main Page” to make it easier to understand.
I dont like that light light blue link color a good example is where related entries is.
To thing, at least give it a bold feel, or darken it up a bit. It needs some Nigga Suck.

Nibaq: I have a problem with the light blue also, need to fix it. I also need to change the related entries location back to under the main post. Will work on this and other stuff today.

I did some more changes since I first posted about the new look. The biggest change is that I changed the main color from baby blue to Magenta.
Black+White+Magenta is a good color combination that isn’t too boring and not too flashy. I fixed the Related Posts and it now shows up under the main post instead of the sidebar.
My biggest problem at the momment is the comments, I think they are hard to read and too far apart from one comment to the other. Will try to solve this today.
Note.. its NOT pink, its Magenta 🙂

Great stuff! Remember that I did post when you announced the change in design a couple of days ago, and I was wrong. This change is awesome, looks very cool! Particularly like the font in the posting headlines.
I would make the titel graphic easier to read though by making it clear which letters belong together to form a word 😉 Especially in “THEBSIDES”, which is probably not understandable by a new visitor.
Dude … the new look , no good, no good, go back to your old one , simpler and more attractive.
Anon: the store sells stuff thats from amazon, not stuff I own. If anyone buys something from the store though I get around 6% commission. Doesn’t sound much but when you add it up it does, last quarter i made around $1200

very nice with the Magenta (pink with a fancy name hehehehe).. it was just my work screen it was funky so i got blinded when i opened up you site..
but its better.. looks cool, and a nice change. your about the comments being too far a part.. and making the comments a little bit bigger would be nice.. what do you think?
PC users, do you see a grey line behind the nicks of everyone here in the comments section? There should be a grey like bar above every comment.
Marzouq i will see what I can do. It took me forever to get things looking the way it is now.. i am not very good at this css coding crap. i will see if i can make the comment font a bit bigger.
Yeah I can see a grey line on every name/number.. it just a shade of greay type thing! It helps.. but maybe a little greyer? maybe…

I am a designer as well. As matter of fact I run a design/CI co in Lhr and in the ME. But you are right that we don’t have to see I2I and as they say: Les gouts et les couleurs…and I appreciate if you are happy with the design then thats the end of it.

I valued Mark persona from his site and his use of photography and being on the ball.
What I expected from the new site is to be impressed with some new undiscovered territory and some typophilic a la ZuzanaL or NevilleB.
As it stands, it is a me2 site with single color and a quirk on the typeface where Mark has played with the kerning on the letter “T” with the W and the Y but some work should be done on the last part “TAM” as it is not standing in line with the other letter. Either space it or kern it. It looks out of sync. And why did you kill the “:” of 2:48?
Having said that. It is your red wagon and I am only web hopping.

About the kerning in the header it was already fixed today morning, try to hard refresh.
the : was dropped from the header because when you verbally say 2:48am you say it two forty eight am, you wouldn’t say two colon forty eight am.

Jay as mark said you are free to state your opinion like everyone else. I replied the way I did because I thought you came on a bit hard with the old senile man+wife+dog site thing. Afterall it’s all about taste.
Yeahh it is better. But now my eye is drifting on the “GH” spacing. Maybe you could look at it.
As for the colon, I agree that you wouldn’t say two colon forty eight am. I was more thinkg of having the “:” as a mnemonic and not used in letters as in “colon” but inserted as is “:”. But I suppose we are طق حنك.

I was really shocked when I visited your site today for my usual blog tour, but I must say I really do like it! The color combo–though not one of my personal favs–works, and i frickin’ LOVE the font you’ve used for the header!
