Blogger Mathai has put together a bunch of links which you should check before you travel just to be on the safe side. Many people get to the airport only to find out they can’t travel because they have an unpaid bill or a travel ban so this list is a good way to check if you’re problem free.
Traffic Violations
Travel Ban
Telephone Bills
Water and Power Bills
Lawsuits
Arrest Warrants

Thanks. this is of help.
A kind gesture, but bloody useless if most of them are in Arabic.
Type your CID # on the boz available and click on the button, copy whatever pops on the screen and then use Google Translate to translate it in english

I recall spending countless hours doing what you suggest to pay my phone bill. Some boxes don’t have copyable text, so it was trial and error. Eventually got there. can do it through NBK now.
But you’ll find that some of the e-services are not as straightforward as you suggest. Trust me, I’ve tried them.
With such a wealth of both, ahem wealth, and western expats, I’m surprised that all the e-services don’t have English versions.

An unpaid bill would send you back home from the airport?! That’s ridiculous! Dubai was hit with people leaving cars behind in the airport, and you still roam free today in and out with all sorts of traffic tickets and bills left behind..
@HIA, they don’t send you back. They’ve set up counters at the airport where you can pay your dues but the problem is that most people going on vacation may not have enough cash in their debit cards to pay traffic fines etc.
My husband was sent back home. We couldn’t go on our honeymoon because it was Ramadan and they couldn’t be bothered to process a 10 KD fine at the airport. It was such an awful experience. We had to lift the travel ban by going to the courts. We went back and bought new tickets and found out that the judge didn’t lift the travel ban. So I broke down and cried and told them we couldn’t afford to buy any more tickets and they processed the fine at the airport (which they could have done the first time). I also found out that the Ministry of Justice counter next to the departures lounge has a different system than the one downstairs at the arrivals counter. After that incident, we always check for travel bans before traveling in every website and at every counter to avoid going through the same situation.
Just found out there’s a lawsuit filed against me lmao
lol
For starters, it may also help to check all of your travel documents are with you in the pouch before stepping into that airport taxi.
What are the odds the system would misremember your identity as belonging to a blacklisted individual?!
