1st what? you could’ve at least made a relevant comment instead of being so thrilled ur the first to comment with … NO comment
Is there a limit on how many times you can do it or how often you can do it? What happens during the 24 hours? Can you still make calls and will they show up as your number or a temporary number?
Usually ministries set rules for that. Like they specified 24 hours to complete transactions, there should be explicit criteria regarding after how many days you can move to another company. Regarding how often, you can change operator after you complete certain days with an operator. Usually there is no limit on “how many times”. And yes you can make calls while you haveapplied for number portability. When you apply for portabilit, you have to settle your bill (on postpaid numbers of course. However, in case you continue using your number after request, your porting process may be delayed as you would generate extra bill by then. Usually service is stopped for a few minutes and in some countries even that doesnt happen beyond a few seconds.. In brief, there would be a complete set of rules issued by MoC to govern the entire process. Lets wait for something good.

This law took effect about 2 years ago but for some reason it wasnt enforced.
I just called one of the telecom’s call centres. They had no idea what I was talking about saying this is still not possible. Take this news with a grain of salt.
Its because it was just announced. I know people that work at telecoms and they were caught by surprise with this announcement.
This link is in arabic, which is not much use to some of us…
I dont have an english source.
Try google Translating that link. Its pretty funny 😛

The link is broken, seems that the news have been taken off the shelf.
The KUNA website is down
Its basically number portability. It gives customers the option to change providers if they are not happy while keeping their numbers.
and what a revolutionary concept it is!! LOOL
Hopefully this will scare operators into treating customers with a little bit more respect.
Its not about respect its about proper training. All the employees in the 3 telecom companies in Kuwait are clueless. Improper training at its finest.
This is the biggest thing to happen to telecom since telecom (:P)
Seriously, this gets enforced, c what happens to calling rates, offers, packages, internet quality, customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant believe no one is JAW DROPPED by the inevitable revolutionary magnitude of this!!!
none of the operators have a number portability solution. it is still in the “lets get number portability” stage
that is not true, they are ready…
kuwait is growing. sensible things r happening. Now the quality of service of the providers will increase. this is how it shud be. I am happy.
don’t get ur hopes up … i’m sure you will still receive the same ol horrid service we are accustomed to
veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery happy bc is means I can get out of the horrible crip of Zain… holding my number for ransom for 7 years now…
Bye Bye Zain
Isn’t KWD 5 like a lot for such a basic change? If you convert currencies, it works out to be much cheaper in other countries.
