Al Jazeera has photos taken of NES right after the invasion showing the state it was in. One of my favorite photos from the bunch is the one above of Jehan Rajab, the co-founder of the New English School. The photo was taken outside the school grounds following liberation. Great finds, however pictures won’t do the atmosphere justice. It was really dark and grim atmosphere even for a boy like me back then, the only postive thing I get from these photos is memories of my real old country, which looks better than now even with all the destruction.
Class of ’07 .. miss that place
