Roombas in Kuwait

I noticed Lakeland at Marina Mall is selling Roombas. They had two models, the Roomba 630 and the Roomba 390 which washes floors. Sadly, both models are ridiculously priced. The Roomba 630 is being sold for KD200 (KD99 on Amazon) and the Roomba 390 is for KD269 (KD142 on Amazon). Amazon ships the Roomba internationally and it will cost you just KD28 to ship the Roomba from the US to Kuwait via DHL. So that’s a considerable saving compared to buying it locally.

I used to have the really older model back in 2003. If you don’t know what a Roomba is click [Here]

excellent machines, I have 2 and named them ramalama & dingdone. perfect replacement for very talkative & sloppy wife who quit me 2 years ago. these do not require buying any jewelry or autos, or all day visits to the $pa or $alon. my new girlfriend loves them. they do require frequent emptying of the dust & dirt box because of my dog.

why is kuwait this messed up, why? I dread the time that I have to go back to live in kuwait. this country lives in extreme contrast to what Islam is all about.

the Quran has stories and stories about those who raise the prices.

the society is so passive that they are waiting for divine intervention in everything

Well prices or business should have nothing to do with religion like everything else.

yet kuwait and its citizens have a F…ed up relationship with religious hypocrisy and they all claim to be good muslims and being a good muslim includes fair and good business ethics. meaning the prices should not be this high.

my point is kuwait is a lawless land

How is this not fair? If you want you can go order it from Amazon. They have to pay for the shipping, the customs, the salespeople to sell it, the fact that they are stocking a niche product when they could put a top seller there instead. It’s a free market deal with it.

Hahahahaha how did you go from Roomba > Religion. You complain we’re waiting for divine intervention in religion then somehow you link price raising to being against Islam? Sounds like you’re looking for the solution in religion yourself.

FYI a lot of costs go into a business and even with inflated prices a lot of them are losing money. Some popular brands that advertise on this very site lose money.

You know why Roombas can afford to be expensive here? Because you can pay a maid 60KD a month to clean your whole house. If that was the price of a maid in foreign countries Roomba would be dead.
