LEGO World Kuwait

LEGO World Kuwait

A friend of mine is building the coolest thing in his basement, his own LEGO world! Its still under construction and he still has along way to go but its already looking really cool. I need to find a way to convince Nat to let me do the same thing…

Here’s a way to work things out the way you want Mark (Well, it mostly works with me), OFFER CHOCOLATE (Galaxy might do the trick) WHILE DOING THE PUPPY EYES THINGY!!!

I tried that and it has %85 success rate 😛

(i wonder why nobody wants to drive a bike on kuwaiti roads these days… oh yes, its beucase theres a 45% death rate per 100km on a bike) sell your bike and use the money to buy legos. 🙂 problem solved

Its really difficult trying to find someone to buy my bike, hopefully with the reduced price I can find someone.

Q8Geek: I tried the puppy eyes loonnnnggg time ago and it didn’t work lol

I love the fact we have someone in Kuwait actually doing something like this. I can’t wait for it to be finished, its going to be huge!

OMG, my dream is finally coming true!! after 29 yrs of waiting, there is a LEGO land in Kuwait! AMAZING work, let me know if you need any help. My LEGO’s can always use a better home 🙂

It’s all good, our “mutual friend” told me you would. Did you see the pics of the trains, where they look like they’re in motion and everything around is out of focus?

I know, it’s pretty awesome, if you check the pics on facebook there’s one building lit from the inside, He designed that one himself! a fashion boutique. lol.

I have an agreement with him that I’m gonna document it’s growth, and any changes he makes, but it’s been a month or two since there have been significant changes, so I haven’t taken my camera round to his place in a bit.

That’s really great.. if your “mutual friend” considers opening it for public.. he’s definetly gonna sell some tickets !!

beutifull work that what you do .iam from iraq i wont to by sum lego parts &sits like unimog sit but i cant do that in iraq its too difficalt to by from ebay heer is ther any good shop i can by legos from kuwait ?my cusin is amerchant &he visit kuwait many tims wid you please just till wher can i by lego in kuwait.thank you.

I don’t buy my LEGO in Kuwait. There are two or three shops that carry the product (Fantasy World, Baroque, Hallmark, Sultan Center) but in general the markup in Kuwait is between 50% all the way up 200%. Fantasy World is the worst. Either their business model is so flawed that they can’t adequately account for their operating costs and simply compensate by over charging or they are maliciously taking advantage of customers who don’t know any better.
For a specific example I was in there just before Eid and set 3315 Olivia’s House was marked 45.950KD or just under $170.00USD. The same set sells from LEGO for $69.99USD. So Fantasy World is selling it for more than 240% more than LEGO does – that’s criminal.
For that reason, 95% or more of the boxed LEGO kits that I purchase I buy direct from LEGO online or through Amazon. When I buy bulk bricks I only deal with bricklink dealers that I’ve had experience with or are recommended by other enthusiasts. If Kuwait is your only option I’d suggest that the Sultan Center generally has the best prices but horrible selection. Fantasy World has the best selection but as I’ve said above are ridiculously priced. Hope that helps.

It’s a real shame that the Lego movement is almost dead here in Kuwait, the adult community is real small here and the shops that happen to sell decent lego sets scalp the prices insanely *coughsfantasyworld*, and if you want to buy a big set like one of the modulars from amazon the shipping charges are usually crushingly expensive T_T
