I just found out and was able to confirm that Bloomingdale’s, the American chain of luxury department stores is coming to Kuwait end of 2016. They’ll be opening up at 360 Mall although I have no idea where in 360 exactly. Sadly Bloomingdale’s in Kuwait will only be catering to women and not men.
Thanks Khaled

Bloomingdales in Dubai Mall has a really good men’s department especially for jeans.
Yeah but according to my source in kuwait it will only be for women
Heard that it is coming up in Avenues Phase 4. Retail space in 360 seems maxed out and parking is a biatch.
I was told 360 by two different sources
My bad ! The exhibition hall it is.
but yeah retail does seem maxed out but maybe someone is moving out? Marks & Spencer would be a good spot.
I think it will open where the exhibitions used to be. Um Kalthoum Hall. I’ve heard that a bid department store will open there.
then thats it, would work well since its a prime location and it would explain why there wouldn’t be a mens section since the hall isn’t big enough for men and women.
it will open in the place of um kalthom exhibitions hall, with 3 floors 😉
three floors? damn. then why aren’t they bringing menswear? the only decent option we have now is harvey.
Is there nothing on top of the exhibtion hall? aren’t their shops already above or will they be vacated?
still don’t know the details, they just told me that it will be in this place with 3 floors hmmm no mens wear !! :\
I heard that the one in Dubai mall is supposedly the largest Bloomingdale’s in the world?
One thing is for sure – you’ll see a lot more of those “brown bag” handbag things now.
The one in Dubai is most definitely not the biggest Bloomingdale’s in the world
many brands don’t have men’s clothing in Kuwait for some reason 🙁
Shopping in Kuwait is a rip-off.
What costs u USD 200 in the states, would cost you KD 180-200 here.
reason being, the country enjoys monopoly!!
good for businesses, bad for consumers.
Not so sure that’s accurate. Most of the stuff at Harvey is close to international retail price. I’ve actually bought a few pieces that were cheaper in Kuwait.
That is true… For some stuff.
It’s not a monopoly thing, the prices they charge the actual franchisee are WAY more than what they themselves pay. Example: Marks and Spencer makes a shirt in Bangladesh for 1 KD, they sell it to Kuwait’s franchisee at 5 KD, Kuwait sells it at 10 KD. A lot of these retailers are not making very much even with the price inflation.
That said anywhere in the world you will pay extra for foreign brands. In the US buying Armani is incredibly expensive
In Most cases, Kuwait market is always pricier.
We want Macy’s!
