The Urban Analyst Sets the Record Straight

settingtherecord

Ten days ago when I posted about Taiba, the 15 year old fashion instagrammer whose work I really liked, a lot of people took to the comments to voice their disapproval. Some were extremely judgmental, others were just simply mean. I don’t know how people don’t see the possibilities Taiba has in the long run if she’s this good doing what she’s doing today. Even if you don’t see the talent in her work that’s fine, at least her parents can and are being very supportive which is what really matters. If my parents didn’t support my passion when I was 15 (which was mostly browsing the internet trying to find porn), I might never have become a blogger today.

In any case, Taiba decided to set the record straight on some of the accusations about her and she published a post over the weekend on her blog. If you’d like to see what she says, you can check out her post [Here]

Lol, this piece certainly doesnt seem to have been writtem by this lady herself, although she is trying to pass it off as her own work. I would say- stop taking yourself sooo seriously..just go with the flow and enjoy your mini moment of fame till it lasts

Hater gonna keep on hating. She has written some articles for magazines too. just accept it that someone younger than you can write better

It would appear the mature and independent honor student has yet to figure out how to use her computer’s spell-check function.

Once again, please go through my blog before you make any assumptions. If you did, then you would be able to come to the conclusion that I AM a writer. Stating the obvious, it is what I do. I highly doubt someone would start a blog if they didn’t have any sort of intellectual capabilities. This is also incredibly offensive considering the fact that I’ve just poured my heart into that post only to be judged yet again, completely defeating the post’s entire purpose.

Do not waste your time with this kind of response. You’ve done more than you should for those that do not choose to absorb everything you have to offer.

Place your energy where you normally do – in what you love in life – and good things happen.

Haters gonna keep on hatin. You’re doing great. They’re just jealous they’re not as good as you are. Keep it up

“I’m very independent and mature for my age”

How exactly do you manage to support your self independently?
I find it amazing that a Kuwaiti girl who’s only 15 that studies can support herself independently. Financially while maintaining a blog that must be some serious income, well done !
Kudos for making all of it on your own. The haters just can’t understand a self made blogger. SMH

Points out at someone’s writing capabilities but can’t spell written for fuck!
It’s W R I T T E N not
WritteM
Lastly,
You’re a cunt, LOL!

Taiba, you need be honored by the Amiri Diwan for being tremendously artistic! I hope Kuwaiti and Arab girls seek inspiration from you.

Well written. Thought out. On point. Busting chops. Eloquently phrasing it. Making moves. And she’s 15.

Can we get her to be the President of something?

Anyway, I can’t thank you enough for all the support Mark. For real. As for all the negativity, I’m going to keep pursuing my passions and keep doing me regardless of what anyone else has to say about it. X

I find the majority of the other posts useful and helpful BUT this is not news. What are we trying to do? Create another Kardashian? Please stop posting this stuff. There’s also heavy bias on these “articles”. Can there at least be some sort of category organization where we could turn off news with specific tags? That’d be great.

If it doesn’t interest you skip it, don’t read it. It’s not like I’ve locked you in a room and am forcing you to watch Kim Kardashian talk about lactation.

Are you suffering from some sort of moderator syndrome? Is that how you respond to suggestions? That’s unprofessional, but then again, maybe I should have taken a hint from reading the first article in the first place.

Hahaha @ suffering

As far as I know, this blog is about what mark wants to share, he’s a blogger, it’s about his personal interests mainly, which is why I think he became a blogger, so like he said just skip and move on to the next article that might interest you. If he’s going through so much to find content, which is very hard to actually find in a place like Kuwait, respect him enough for him to share what he’s interested in. I mean let him enjoy what he does for him to continue..

Sorry Mark, I don’t mean to get in the way or to escalate anything at all, but it’s true some people have been complaining, but I just think they’re either in the wrong place/website. Not everyone has to enjoy every article, I certainly don’t like every single thing you write, but I like most which is good enough for me as a reader, I don’t feel a need to complain, I’ll just move on to the next article.

I obviously agree with everything you said. I personally don’t like every post on all the blogs I follow, with some blogs like Engadget I don’t relate to 80% of the posts but if it’s anything I’m not interested in I skip it. I’m not gonna leave a comment on Engadget telling them too stop writing articles about Android devices because I think android is shit…

Oh but you have a problem when people criticize her? Look up the word “Hypocrite”.

Moreover, in your comment about “logic” – you have two grammar mistakes. I’ll let you figure them out as a game.

Are we supposed to cater the blog specifically to your needs?

Some people will enjoy certain posts, while others won’t. You skip it and read the next one that interests you.

It’s great that you don’t appreciate or like fashion, but other people do. Some view it as an art form. Taiba is just 15 and she has a great sense of style, but not just that, her photographs are composed well. She’s talented. Instead of putting her down, don’t you think we should be encouraging more teens to be using their time wisely like she is?

I frankly have no opinion on this young Lady one way or the other. I wish her well, but I do not think I have ever observed Mark being this rabidly defensive on any other issue. Am I the only one who noticed this?

I think this is the perfect time to get extremely defensive. This is a new generation of Kuwaiti’s who have the opportunity to change this god-forsaken country. If a young girl is trying to express herself and essentially promote change in doing that, then why not defend her? Or is it better to shut her up and discourage other young people from doing the same by shitting on their ambitions.

Just my two cents.

Lol. Mark is getting defensive about many things 🙂 He’s not corporation or something like that to care about what everyone thinks. He’s private blogger and he can be defensive or offensive about anything he wants.

Actually I’m impressed he didn’t drop few f bombs already 😀

I also mentioned this on his post :), Good observation Matt

You’re the rare few I believe that don’t circle jerk

I use to follow the other know fashionistas a couple years ago until I got so sick of their emptiness that I dropped them. I did however enjoy your first post about the Urban Analyst. He photography style drew me in so I took a quick look at a few of her posts and actually really like her writing style too.

Great potential and wish you all the best. UA, As long as you’re passionate about it then who gives a shit what everyone says. It’s obvious a lot of people are jealous cuz you’re a piece of ass and you got talent!

A well written and eloquent response. Good going, Taiba! Don’t get rattled up by the hate, it’s all part of success. You’ve opened my eyes in that fashion isn’t just about clothes and make-up. All the best.

I have no idea who this young lady is, but she is more eloquent than most people twice her age.
I don’t get some people’s need to bring others down. Inferiority complex maybe?
Anyway, they should be proud of young Kuwaiti girls like her. She seems ambitious and hardworking, unlike the majority of today’s youth.

While I wasn’t particularly excited by Taiba’s pictures or the content of her blog, I appreciate her drive to achieve something in this culture of complacency.

As long as she isn’t harming herself or any one around her, she should be supported. As should everyone, who is discovering their passion in life.

Good day.

A lot of residents in this country still have their heads stuck in the sand.

There’s nothing negative to be said about this 15 year old girl. Her life is hers to live.

and she writes rather impeccably!

fashion is not a thing that i follow so i have nothing to say about that, but your writing is on the next level and make sure you keep on writing because you are extremely good at it.(start writing books aswell)
anyways “in life don’t ever let someone put you down. do what you think is right because we all know what’s right and what’s wrong”
god bless and to the best in life

TIL copying others fashion and putting on make up is talent.

This blog used to have new interesting things, now just trash is posted.

LOL Makhoul.. cute yawn, but we both know that my comments have stepped on your exposed nerves multiple times, and most likely still do.. in fact you made a post about it.. 🙂 stop pretending to be numb..

so finally after years you finally have the nutsack to post my comments? in a vain attempt at showcasing your resilience.. lol im glad to see now at least many other posters are starting to call you out on your 1st world bitchfest.

ROFL..btw i never did thank you for that post where you mentioned my fine work 🙂

mish ma’3ool! big hugs to you makhoul! 😀

Dude you seriously think your comments mean shit or that post I did was about you? The divorce was over 3 years ago, jeez fucking move on already. You still come in here with your one trick pony on a weekly basis thinking it still means shit, it doesn’t. The reason I’ve started approving your comments is if you noticed lately I’ve started approving all sorts of comments I wouldn’t have previously done so.

So if this is the only thing you have going for you then by all means keep doing it, I’ll be approving all your comments from now. You clearly like the blog or you wouldn’t be checking it the whole time. But, even though I’m over the divorce and I’ve moved on you still don’t seem to have closure over something I did to you (or your friend) in the past. My advice is you should get closure and move on as well.

Mark, relax dude!

Approve all comments all drama everything. More drama = more traffic = more $$$ everyone wins =)

I literally do not get why people are sooo against Mark posting about this young woman. And bringing his personal life into this? Did you forget all the pages of posts you’ve been scrolling up and down throughout the past 10 years?

You’re not interested in fashion? You don’t understand fashion? You don’t know about the multi billion industry behind it? Fine. You don’t want to educate yourself? Fine. Why bash the girl? Or Mark? Spend your precious time doing something you’re interested in and don’t belittle other people’s achievements and passion because they don’t match yours.

Thanks for shedding the light on Kuwaiti talent Mark, keep up the good work and good luck Taiba.
