In celebration of 80 years of giving back to Kuwait and it’s people, the Kuwait municipality released a video documenting the history of the municipality using archival footage of Kuwait.
The documentary is in Arabic but contains lots of old footage and photos so its still interesting to skim through even if you don’t understand Arabic. [Vimeo]

I like the renewed interest in Kuwait history I’ve been seeing
Me too. I hope this is a part of a bigger effort to “Kuwaiticise” Kuwait
Thanks for sharing this, Mark! Yes, a very interesting video indeed. Always nice to see these old images and clips of how Kuwait used to be.
Look at 8:06 , look how beautiful that street is! so live.
What happened to old Kuwait? 🙁
Aaaarrrggg, looks like so much great info but it’s all in Arabic. Okay, we don’t learn Arabic because many of us are transient through the region, but that DEFINITELY doesn’t mean we don’t want to learn about it. Subtitles, voice-overs, it doesn’t matter. I find this comprehensive historical stuff of Kuwait is really fascinating, I wish I could watch it.
And that is why I love 428AM Mark, you are the bridge between the 2 worlds : )
(Swear to god, if I had an Arabic to English media company, the demand would be phenomenal.)
