Will the US iPhone 5s and 5c work in Kuwait?

The answer is yes. Both the US iPhone 5s and the US iPhone 5c support LTE 1800 which is the frequency used in Kuwait. [Link]

Also the cheapest place to get an iPhone 5s or 5c seems to be Mr Babu as of now. [Link]

At the rate these retailers keep undercutting each other in price I wouldn’t be surprised to see the 32GB being sold for 240-250 within two weeks lol.

From apple store UK its for 259KD 16GB and from US, its for 190KD, get the T mobile without contract one.

13KD tax and other handling charges and throw in another 6kd for shipping from Aramex.

US apple store sells unlocked @ $705/$815/$925 for 16/32/64gb tax inclusive! therefore it is KD205/235/269
+ 6-7kd shopandship shipping charge for a package of 1 phone + 1.5-3kd customs if applied 🙂

i wont pay 259KD for a 16gb phone!

Funny story: I just came back from sharq a shop there is selling a Gold “colored” Iphone 5s 16GB for 485KD .. I Asked is it real gold in a sarcastic way he replied yes !!! I LMAO and exited the shop …. I called my cousin in london and told him the story he said its out of stock in the apple store in london. But the shops around the apple store has some and selling it for 1000£ for a 16GB so the whole world are going nuts

The best iPhone 5 to buy is the A1530, because it supports LTE in both Kuwait and Europe (so when you travel, you can still have LTE).

There are two flavors of LTE, TDD-LTE is what’s used in the Middle East, and FDD-LTE is what’s used in the rest of the world.

The iphone 5 that supports both is A1530; so its the safest bet.

Mark, it should be noted that it appears from that article that only the Sprint version of the iphone will be compatible in the Middle East. However, the unlocked version sold by the Apple store will not be the Sprint model.

“In terms of absolute best picks, the Sprint model is the best for the Americas and Japan, as it supports the most bands and offers nearly complete portability across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. However, whether it is truly usable in that way depends entirely on whether or not it is possible to obtain an unlocked version of that model. The unlocked model that Apple plans to sell is the one for T-Mobile/AT&T/Verizon, model A1533/A1532. If it is possible to get the Sprint model unlocked for use with any operator, then that is the one to get. It has the broadest range of network support of any operator’s iPhone models.”
