I never thought star gazing is possible in Kuwait. I mean a REAL start gazing.
Salmi is more of US military camps lights gazing.

Kuwait sky is really messy. BUT, we do have a relatively fine spot to watch stuff.
Not too clear, but not too polluted if circumstances allows it (Like weather and moon phase).
We usually end up here:

I have an abused camera, but I managed to do this:

I hope Mark doesn’t mind sharing those though…
Link takes me to a sketchy website
same thing with pedro. link took me somewhere
with warnings of viruses.
Wired, it works fine here. It’s basically a world light pollution heat map and Kuwait is quite covered.
Just google light pollution map
Another website is dark site finder
I’ve scanned the URL with virustotal and it’s clean, you guys might want to check if your DNS is poisoned, try using Google DNS, incognito tab, etc.
Or maybe your antivirus/browser extension is complaining about the word ‘VIIRS” in the website which stands for Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite.
What I was trying to explain is that I use that map and to get this pitch black spot, I usually drive around 250-300 KM out of a heavily populated city/town to get to break out of light pollution radius.
I did go to west of kuwait once and actually its quite dark and beautiful..

I think its because you’re using Chrome and the website doesn’t have SSL.
