Fire at the Ministry of Education building

Earlier today a fire engulfed the construction site of the new Ministry of Education headquarters building. A friend of mine was there with his camera and managed to snap these pictures. No information yet on what caused the fire.

Thanks Edgar

Nothing goes right in Kuwait!! Ugh, just can’t wait for Ramadan spices up the country a bit. Just wish I could eat lol.

A blessing in disguise? hopefully they change the design and build a building that will be big enough to accommodate all staff with enough parking for STAFF AND VISITORS.

I actually found the current design very contemporary and appropriate to the region; subtle and modern without being too faceless. The only fly in the ointment was why they signed the building off to accommodate 3647 employees and only have 1440 employee parking spaces. [Source: project specifications.]

Sometimes I wonder who the Hell is in charge of urban planning in Kuwait, or if we even have a committee for it.

The building is nice, I agree. But when I said change design I meant interior layout or make the building bigger to accommodate all staff. It’s quite unhealthy to have 4 or 6 employees in a 4mx4m office. 🙂 And as you mentioned they need to have 4500 parking spaces

Maybe the contractors started the fire on purpose so they can can extend the contract to ask for more money and take even longer to complete. Sounds about right for business here LMAO.
