the whole label, esp. the front with the square barcode, stands in for the stamp. This isn’t too uncommon to see in the US. This summer I saw something in Paris that was similar, when you paid for postage from a self-service machine.
Dude, he’s talking about the Kuwait Customs Stamp – refer to posts from the past 2 days.
We received 2 aramex packages today and the stamp was mysteriously absent on both. Sounds like “bogah 3ala al-saree3”
This isn’t something Aramex made up. DHL, FedEx and other companies have also added the KD1 fee. But I thought it was going to be a physical stamp that would be stuck on the package and not a metaphorical one.
They will tell you it’s a stamp on a document, that comes with each package…
you know like the FedEx documents or DHL documents sometimes i see those if its only going through customs and cleared by them.
and who ever they made that stupid deal with in Kuwait Customs, probably someone thinks that he should get a bigger cut, that could be it.
WELCOME TO KUWAIT PEOPLE
If there is in fact a stamp, it is fixed on the Bayan – or customs clearance document which Aramex gives to the Customsto clear packages.
But do you get any copy of that bayan with the stamps affixed on them as proof that these guys really took your money for something that is not in the control?
I guess not.
So in short, there is NO proof packages are being stopped at customs, and that Aram-ass (or DHL/Fedup) are actually paying that 1kd (or 2kd?) for the clearance when they are stopped.
F*** this!
The philosophy behind these companies is to charge the customer the max they are willing to pay. If people let this go, there is no reason why in a few months we won’t see another increase. Its only when people call the bs and stop using the service that these extra charges vanish the same way the came.
Remember the internet providers and how they justified the cap by blaming the MOC for supposed data charges, and then MOC came out and denied any additional fees. Then the Sh** hit the fan and the lies were exposed and the prices were slashed in half.
+1 totally agree with you.

i ordered a r/c car for $45 from amazon. Aramex charged me KD5 for customs charges and 16kd for shipping.
and they didnt give any proof that customs evaluated the toy to be of 5% of x $350 .
Ridiculous
Aramex is getting bad by the day…
This has to stop.
Dude, where’s my car?
Dude, your package wasn’t held otherwise you’d be getting the nice set of invoices showing the charges.
it was held and i paid custom clearance fees.
And the 1 KD wasn’t on the set of invoices??
with aramex u get 1 invoice from them which combines customs and shipping
Oh that makes sense.. I haven’t used aramex in ages so I wouldn’t know…
If you don’t get a set of invoices that means that they consolidated your package with others in order to save on the processing fees, which is why you weren’t provided with the invoices (i’ve seen them with another shipping company, don’t remember which).
You should get the full set of papers if you payed for it.
all payment was made on your behalf so you should demand for them.
Guys I feel that we are being ripped off by our commercial carriers. Just out of curiosity, does the main Aramex from the US (main service providers) are aware of what’s happening with their services over here and in which direction the company is headed too?
I’m not sure if it can make a difference.
Aramex is not a US company, it’s Jordanian.
lol.
OH?! O_O Ok I guess it’s not going to help. >_>.
I got 3 packages today no stamp paid 6KD over shipping charges
Just because the other companies say the custom fee went up doesn’t mean it’s true. Perhaps they met and decided to hike up their fees together! Corporations have done that before. I want CUSTOMS to officially confirm that their fees have gone up!
Day by day i think how i can setup a company to service customers like us without and stop aramex from taking these ridiculous amounts and fees!!
This is stupid we now pay 5.15 KD for something that is feather weight if i want to get some mobile covers over ebay i am paying triple the amount of the covers just for Aramex this has to stop.
I think i am switching to DHL especially after i heard that all the Cd’s and DVDs will go directly to the ministry and they will remain their for 15 days minimum for checkup.
If they were going to release them, your CD’s will be in a very bad condition.
not to mention all the money you will be paying for shipping fees.
This has nothing to do with Aramex or DHL since this is a requirement from the Ministry of Information. So your CD/DVDs (if selected for screening) will be held no matter who is shipping them into the country.
I know for a fact that there were changes in fees and it was not the courier companies idea to add 1KD.They also do not stamp every pack individually, they have tousands shipments a day so if they were stamping everything one by one you would receive it with even larger delay. I would suggest to address the courier companies to give you the breakdown of the charges. BTW, Kuwaiti customs are supposed to go on strike any day now, so you may not even get your shipments on time.
