Kuwait named least innovative GCC economy

Qatar has retained its position as the Middle East’s most innovative economy in the annual Global Innovation Index 2012 (GII).

The study, commissioned by leading business school INSEAD in partnership with other firms, scored 141 countries based on the degree to which their economic environment enables innovation, as well as actual innovative outputs.

Saudi Arabia was ranked 48th (up six places on 2011) while Kuwait was the lowest ranked GCC nation at 55th, down from 52nd last year.

#e7ba6!

Before everyone writes angry comments about why Kuwait should be higher/lower:

This is almost entirely because of the parliamentary stuff constantly going on. A lot of development plans and commerce laws are not being passed because no parliament is passing them because their personal issues are more important to them.

Basically blame the voters πŸ™‚

Having lived in kuwait for most part of my life, i like it the way it is, not too fast paced, everyone who complains should try visiting KSA. Maybe i was one of the many who kept complaining, after my recent visit to KSA all i can say is I Love Kuwait.

Wo says there are no innovations ?
Infant there are so many !
To name some:
Increasing driving license renewable fee to 50 kd to decrease accident rate, and imposed on expats.
Only handful of univeristies, to many buger joints, and health clubs
Strict sponsorship system.

Man, if you do not give freedom of thoughts, who will care about innovative things in Kuwait, if Kuwait would had made expat feel like home. Then Majority of population, who are expats could helped so much in innovating things.

They should bring NATGEO team to visit schools, rather than only promoting a brand at 360.

aaa – hahahahahah! funny, you should go google your facts before you compare india’s and kuwait’s innovation rate.
