The ONE furniture store in Marina Mall started their sale today. The first day is invite only and Nat was able to get an invite so we decided to pass by. The invite said that the “private” event starts at 6:30 and we got there right on time. When we parked the car Nat started walking fast towards The ONE, I told her to slow down since its not like there was going to be a long line of people waiting to go in like you would find outside Walmart on the morning of Black Friday.
We got to the entrance and as I expected it was empty, but once we walked in it was a completely different story. It was just chaos! We could barely move and everyone was rushing around and pushing and shoving. We quickly started walking around looking for stuff to get. We found this couch that looked cool and selling for like KD119 after discount but while we were deciding if we wanted it or not someone came and bought it. We then quickly scrambled around looking for another couch. Finally we found one lying on a top shelf and priced only KD97 after discount. We quickly found an employee and told them we needed two. We then went down to the cashier area to pay and there was a really long line there. It was extremely unorganized and believe it or not the biggest problem was the lack of enough shopping carts and baskets.
Anyway we paid for the two couches and we also got a dresser for the bedroom. Now we are hoping the couch will turn out to be comfortable and the size not too big. We couldn’t try the couch nor check the size because it was parked on the top shelf. We also didn’t want to spend too much time thinking about it because we didn’t want someone else to buy it instead. We were lucky even since there were only 2 in stock, one on display and one in storage.
They are supposed to deliver the couches on Sunday, once they do will take pictures and share them here. I really hope they turn out to be cool.

we bought our sofa from the The One like 3 years ago and its still in perfect condition…yes they r expensive but the quality seems pretty good..also we bought a platform bed last year and only had a small problem with the drawers coming apart but they were quick to come and fix it..personally i think the one is one of the better furniture stores in kuwait
hahahah man NO events in kuwait are good.
i think even if they managed to like get the world’s top DJ’s in one ultra concert in like the new jaber stadium, it would still end up sucking somehow bc this is kuwait. it’s like a curse.

u can always go to safat elghanim and get cheaper sofas… i got mine from there and i love it and the best thing that its always sale there 🙂

Anyway, you should’ve had a knife fight with the guy who bought your sofa. If it was a girl, victory would’ve been almost assured since you can beat girls, can’t you, Mark?
One thing about the ONE … expensive like hell, but their stuff are well designed and they last for a long time … while i was shopping for my furniture here in Bahrain i decided between the ONE and Home Basics (i chose the latter because same quality yet more affordable) but usually i am an IKEA DIY person!!
I love this place, very affordable in the sale periods.It is like a dream house. I love the flower section….AMAZING. BUT, hated the staff, very rude.
Besides having unique and high-quality furniture, The One has excellent service. I moved on the 4-day National/Liberation Day Weekend and getting anyone to deliver anything – much less on time – was impossible. The One was the ONLY business that seemed to make an effort and they were great about both communication and follow-through. The prices might be high but my time is valuable and they act like it is. Kudos to The One!
