I woke up this morning to find out that Tikka and the Fashionway complex opposite Fanar in Salmiya had caught fire this morning. I don’t have any information yet on what caused the fire but it looks like the fire engulfed the whole top floor and probably causing damage to the shops below as well. The video above is of Tikka on fire and below are some shots taken after the fire was put out. [YouTube]
Thanks Rami and Karim
Update: Below are some shots of the fire taken by Hudson
Update2: Below is a 27 minute video of the fire, better quality than the one above.
Thanks Khaloody

Chicken Tikka. I thought it was a new place called just ‘Tikka’ by your description.
What a coincidence…
Last week you’re speaking about Sultan Center next door closing up and building a new building on the same location. Today, the building next door is on fire … and will probably also be torn down and rebuilt along with the new Sultan Center building.
Interesting…
و مات؟؟
Gosh…
Gosh.. my girlfriends and I were just there this Saturday.. they were way too crowded.. we had to literally push our way in to get seats/plates.. But man.. can’t believe it.. just too surreal.. Hope no one got hurt.. and the place opens up soon! This is too convenient a location to be closed for too long!
here a video of 27 mins

Tikka became Tikka i guess ! lol
I went there today and saw what was left of the place. It’s a terrible mess. I’m sad because before the new malls were built I used to bring my kids there to the arcade, bowling alley etc 🙁
Oh and thank you for putting the pics and video. My husband didn’t believe how bad the fire was, but I’ll show him these images and he’ll have to.Best regards.
Kuwaiti bloggers need to start get creative, im subscribed on reader to ALL bloggers, and noticed how topics get repeated/stolen with no reference to origin, for ex most posts today are about the tikka fire, H&M Versace, some app for radio show and surely the RIP steve (isad) !
True this is a topic that has been discussed on other blogs but I always try to bring content that hasn’t been see on others or sometimes at least bring the content first.
Don’t worry Mark, <3 ur blog, though its getting slow nowadays ;/
come on, past 3 weeks I think I’ve been hitting 4 posts a day on average (I think) + a ton more on PM and Events.
Some companies email their updates yo all bloggers.
Avenues and 360 should be prepared for this scenario (Allah la ygolah)
Was on my morning run when noticed the smoke. Reached that area at around 5:15am and noticed a single fire-fighting truck “watering the plants”, it was similar to bringing a knife to a war. Other trucks showed up at around 5:50am, too little too late i guess.
Shame on the fire-fighting department though, they should have been faster than that.
I heard they were on strike too
Morning run? do you see me run on the road everyday…?
Unless ur running with a tag with ur name on it, i dont think so 😀
I Think, it’s the time to open another restaurant with another Type of food !!!
Okay, anyone one know why this happened ?! or like, what caused the fire ?!
Can’t say I’ll miss chicken Tikka but hey that Fashionway building is a bit of a National Treasure…….ah happy days.
Mark the whole fire started because the electrical generator blew up n burnt the whole place down..!!
What electrical generator?
that machine…which generates electricity 😉 😛
The generator on the side of the building under kings blew up causing the fire
