Not sure how accurate this report by the World Health Organization is but Kuwait has the lowest alcohol consumption rate in the world. The reason I doubt the accuracy is because:
(a) Because alcohol is illegal in Kuwait so the majority drink in secret and I highly doubt with admit to it on a survey
(b) They list beer as the most consumed alcoholic drink in Kuwait when in fact it should be spirits
For those curious Saudi Arabia came second after Kuwait as the lightest-drinking country while Belarus came first as the heaviest-drinking country. Check out the BBC Booze Calculator [Here] and the WHO report [Here]

That’s pretty funny! And so not true… Behind closed doors oceans of alcohol are being drunk. Oceans..
Saudis are light drinkers? I guess they haven’t seen them in action in Ba7rain or any other country for that matter. They missed out on the underground Kuwaiti parties where 17 yr old chicks are falling off their chairs. Not quite accurate.
This is probably based on Alcohol which is legally imported for Embassies.
LOL what
Is this a joke?
Drinking alcohol is very widespread among Kuwaitis, regardless of gender and class.
Without exception, all my visiting friends say they drink more in Kuwait than elsewhere. I’m not sure how but I’ll take their word for it!
I think it’s because a majority of Kuwaitis simply fly over to their regional neighbors and drink there over the weekend.
breathalyzer in the airport upon arrival would be a nice game…
I’d be willing to bet that Kuwait has the highest per-captia sales of grape juice and sugar in the world.
Don’t forget yeast
The WHO should be ashamed of itself.
