I had a quick trip to Bahrain today and while there I spotted a lot of check points with concrete barriers and heavily armed police. I really hope everything gets better in Bahrain, it’s a beautiful country with great people and I hate seeing it like this.

The last time I was in Bahrain was in 1983. Do they still have the liqour store “Gray MacKenzie” or something like that, near the Holiday Inn?
not likely with idiots from both sides.

The Bahraini’s are some of the nicest people in the gulf. I’ve been to Bahrain several times by car, and during border checks they were always polite and very welcoming to Kuwaitis.
You travel a lot, bro.
But they’re always very short trips
best way to travel short bursts and see as much as possible.
I disagree, you don’t get to know a country if you’re there for 3 days. Nice to spend long enough somewhere that it almost feels like home when you go back.
They are respectful, polite and welcoming to all nationalities 🙂 I always enjoyed my trips to Bahrain.
I also frequent Bahrain, very nice folks for sure, I hate to see any country like this, but few social struggles come without struggle. I really hope their government, and all other Arab governments, actually take the concerns of their people seriously. Wishful thinking I know.. one need only review Arab history since the Ottoman empire and see its the same pattern that hasn’t seen little change.
Anyway, although I was against Aljazeera’s initially biased coverage, it did make a really good documentary, in case anyone’s missed it, it might help give a bit of insight, insight that popular media has left out..
be watchful, it does have some really graphical footage.

I sure hope too, that their problems will be solved soon. (Well, they may be never fully solved, but maybe they get closer to a solution)
I really like the Bahraini people and Bahrain :/
I love Bahrain and Bahraini people. I can remember seeing riot police with machine guns back in 1997 the first time I went there. I guess something had just happened. It’s sad and I hope they can just find peace.
I lived in Bahrain for more than 6 years and it was sad to see the country full of riots and violence. However the situation in several areas used to be a bit tense before 2011. I hope all works well for Bahraini people in the future and they manage to solve all their problems. They are very welcoming, honest and straigh forward people.
