Avenues Bahrain

Over the weekend I was in Bahrain and dropped by the recently opened Avenues there to check it out since I had some time to kill. It’s pretty tiny compared to Avenues Kuwait but they’ve got great outdoor seating that overlooks the bay.

I’m not sure how many phases Avenues Bahrain has, I think just two with the first phase currently the only one open. The first phase looks like Grand Avenues here in Kuwait just a bit longer and tighter. Currently not much is open there and what is open we have in Kuwait, so it’s probably not worth checking out yet.

I guess there won’t be many stores that are exclusive to Bahrain and not yet in Kuwait, right? (apart from home grown Bahraini brands)

They were recently granted planning permission for Phase 2, which will add 30000 square meters of retail space [including a souk-like area like what we have in Kuwait] as well as a 210-room, five-star Hilton-branded hotel and residences directly attached to the expansion. Construction already started and they’re planning to be ready by early 2020.

Alshaya: never a dull moment.

400 Gradi is set to open today, i think it’s the Middle East debut.

I’m excited for Cafe Coco to open in The Avenues Bahrain , because it’s always busy in The Avenues Kuwait.
