The two hottest video games launching this month are already out in Kuwait. Uncharted 4 launched in Kuwait two days before the US release and Doom which is supposed to launch this Friday is already out in Kuwait since yesterday. Both games are available at Rihab Complex or if you’d rather not go to Hawalli you can always get them online from GamesQ8.
I was planning on getting both but I just downloaded OpenRA, the fan improved C&C Red Alert project and I’m currently addicted to it. Me and my friends used to play Red Alert all day long back when I was in university so it looks like I’m going to busy with this for the next few days. One of the best things about Kuwait, is Rehab. I love how they always release video games a few days before their official release dates. I remember picking up Fallout 4, 4 days before its official date.
On the contrary Rehab is terrible. Been ripping us off for the last 20 years, selling $30 games for 20 KD, changing prices on the fly whenever they feel like it, selling “Banned” games for 50 KD because they were banned. Getting games early once in a while wasn’t worth that, I’m almost 100% digital now and if it’s not digital I order the physical copy online. Actually in the past they used to get games MONTHS late if it wasn’t the latest hyped release.
At least with online stores the prices are set and you don’t have to go to Hawally
Rihab sell games mostly cheaper than the US retail price. It’s only when it comes to old games that are heavily discounted in the US that their pricing no longer becomes logical. I’m not going down the digital route mostly because I can’t resell the game once I’m done with it nor can I lend it to my brother.
What $30 games are there that they were selling for 20KD? 3DS games usually range from 12 KD to 15, PS4/Xbox/Wii U games range from 17 to 20. Do they inflate prices of games that they release early? Sure. But ripping us off for 20 years? Come on man, that’s a little bit dramatic.
GBA/DS games used to retail for $30 and would sell for 15-20 KD depending on the game, and if a game ever came with a packin like a free soundtrack they would sell it for 30KD and tell you “Limited Edition”even if it wasn’t. Even games meant to be expansions like Super Street Fighter 4, $40 retail, were sold for 20 KD there.
Also the #1 inexcusable thing they used to do – change the price depending who was buying. I saw the same game be sold for 18KD then 20KD then 22KD in the space of a day.
They’re better these days because they’re desperate and they kept getting shut down not because they’re suddenly ethical
Oh that must have changed when the 3DS came out because I buy physical copies of Atlus games which come with soundtracks + art books and they tend to be sold for 15. I think the most expensive 3DS game I’ve seen was the Legends of Legacy copy that came with an art book and soundtrack, which was going for 18 KD.
The second point you bring up is a good one, but at the same time it’s also a good thing because you can essentially bargain and get a game for even cheaper than normal. But then again, it can be a double edged sword.
I personally would like to go fully digital (which I’ve done for the most part for my 3DS), but I’ve already run out of space on my PS4 and I don’t think upgrading to a 1TB hard drive will help much.

if you’re buying from rihab expect to haggle, they don’t have fixed prices but since all the shops are next to each other you can hop from one to another until you find the price you’re willing to pay.
If the guy says KD22 tell him no thanks and as you turn around he’ll drop it to KD20. Tell him no thanks you’ll get it for KD18 from the shop next door and he’ll then drop the price to 18. Thats always been Rihab.
Yeah but it doesn’t mean I have to deal with it 😛 18KD was still more than it cost me to download the thing off PSN and I didn’t have to haggle for it. And like you mentioned in the other reply that’s just for brand new games, for old games its no contest when they get discounted digitally to as low as 3KD.
Brand new games cost around KD18 digitally but advantage of buying the physical game for the same price is you can then sell it for KD5 to KD12 depending on how soon after the game comes out you decide to sell it for. That makes it a lot cheaper than going digital. AND you can lend the physical copy to a friend or relative, you can’t do that with digital. Plus lots of people have internet caps so downloading a 50GB game isn’t practical.
You can always go to xcite and buy your games for even higher prices.
I’d definitely recommend the various Instagram accounts (some with free delivery even such as @alfuhod) for video games over GamesQ8. They’re almost consistently cheaper.

They’re not the greatest at updating (IG accounts as well as their related websites unless it’s a hot new release). So as a rule of thumb you just ask for what you want since they don’t all display their entire merch.

Btw, how’s PostaPlus doing now since the UPS merger or whatever was going on? Was thinking of opening an account with them to have a cheaper option for packages I don’t need in a hurry, especially after a lacking first experience with ShopnShip. I also have MyUS but for more valuable/important shipments.
from what i’ve heard, don’t use UPS for the time being. None of the packages are getting delivered!

the PostaPlus MyBox service isn’t affected, it’s the UPS packages that are affected. By UPS I mean UPS packages arriving to Kuwait and not packages being sent to your posta plus US mailbox. So if you’re shipping an item directly to Kuwait, avoid UPS for now.

Some of them are through Amazon and as you know certain items they deliver directly, I’m not sure if they do that through anything other than UPS but I think I saw FedEx there too.
I gotta say the PostaPlus reviews on google aren’t encouraging though haha
Well there are two different services, there is PostaPlus and there is MyBox by PostaPlus. I’m guessing most of the negative reviews are for PostaPlus the delivery service and not MyBox which is there US forwarding mailbox.
