Kuwait sent 66 candidates who sat for 118 exams for a pass rate of 64.4%, the highest pass rate of all candidates sitting for the exam outside of the U.S. In fact, candidates from Kuwait performed better than every U.S. jurisdiction. By comparison, the best performing CPA exam jurisdiction in the U.S. – Utah – pulled a pass rate of 57.4% overall.
That’s an odd but interesting fact. I guess. [Link]

This really has nothing to do with Kuwait, given that the majority taking the test are expats.
I don’t see anyone claiming they were Kuwaiti?
and even if they were Kuwaitis, i don’t see anything wrong with that result. You think Kuwaitis are lazy and not good with anything, but thats not a fact. The truth is the negativity about Kuwaiti people is nothing more than a probaganda by the government and wealthy people so they allow businesses to grow away from citizens.
I am a CPA who took the exams in Kuwait. I am also Indian who grew up in Kuwait. When you go to take the exams, everyone is Indian! You will barely like a non-Indian, let alone anyone Arab. You can sometimes see a few Bangladeshis and Pakistanis, but not many at all.
Typo. I meant “You will barely find a non-indian”

2/3 of Kuwait’s population is expats the majority of ANYTHING in Kuwait is expats
“the majority of ANYTHING in Kuwait is expats”
lol
My aunt A KUWAITI is a CPA. This stereotype of Kuwaitis being lazy is really annoying. Laziness is a choice not an attribute that you stick on an entire nation. People be it Kuwaiti, Indian or American are defined by their choices, wutever choice they make they have to live with it. Please stop spreading these awful stereotypes against Kuwaitis or any other nationality/culture.
what is CPA ?
Certified Public Accountant.
Anyone know how many Kuwaitis were there?
Zero
and you know this how?
This just show how good is the education system in Kuwait .
Nope, most people taking the CPA have been working for several years so a lot of them weren’t even brought up in the Kuwait education system, there are statistics showing our highschools are some of the worst in the world when it comes to things like standardized tests.
@Ferydon: If you mean private education in Kuwait then yes, it is some of the best in the world depending on which school you go to, however if you mean Public education then I’m sorry but that’s just plain wrong.

Actually I went to a private American school and it didn’t prepare me at all. When I went to university in the US everyone was on a much higher level than me, especially in math and the sciences.
They’re just good at charging high tuition and paying the teachers shitty wages.
Proof enough those guys were cheating on their exams.
Such a negativity in some of the comments. I know many Kuwaitis who graduated from prestigious UK universities and currently are working in major corporations in Kuwait and teach at a university level. I’m not taking about a couple of friends, but many. Yes, some Kuwaitis are lazy and hateful, while others study in some of the best universities in the world. Remember the Kuwaiti who graduated from Oxford University 2 years ago? He was mentioned in the news? How many can say they graduated from one of the top 2 universities in UK? I don’t know how many Kuwaitis were in the above mentioned test, but what I know is people tend to pigeonhole Kuwaitis as lazy, ignorant, and dumb citizens. Maybe it’s just a reflection of the hate we see in the Internet/blogs. I’m not denying that some schools in Kuwait aren’t to a standard, but the fact that many Kuwaitis hold degrees from top level universities breaks this stereotype.
The problem is foreigners tend to interact with Kuwaitis only when they want to go do government paperwork, and nobody is graduating from a good university and then getting a job doing govt. paperwork
Thank you Uzair for the fact. 🙂
