Last year it was announced that the legendary architecture firm OMA would be designing a department store at 360 Mall and a few days back the design was finally revealed. Judging by the 360 Mall floor plan they have on the website it looks like the department store will be built as an extension to the current building and not a separate structure like I had previously thought. Mark, Long time my friend. I worked with Tamdeen in developing the entertainment on the 3rd floor many moons ago.
There was a two story department store in the orignal plans at 360 where the image you provide shows. While i was there it was used for storage on the upper floor, and exihbitions etc… on the lower floor.
If the image is actual representation, It appears they would remove the cladding on the lower floors and put what looks like see through cladding. I always liked the 360’s high end, cutting edge looks, and this department store ( probably luxury) would be one like no other if that is what the final product will look like.
It has been over two years since i worked there but by the looks that is my guess.
I looked at the online mall map and it would be the 1st and 2nd floor above the exhibition hall.
