Shop in Kuwait Violates Law by Displaying ‘Homosexual’ Logo

The Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector has issued a citation against a shop for displaying the ‘homosexual’ logo, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

The daily added, this happened when a number of shoppers complained about the sign and the concerned commercial control department sent officers to run a check and the signboard was removed and the person responsible has been referred to the concerned authority.

The sources stressed the need to abide by the laws in force and its responsibility in applying the law in its context that does not allow any irregularities that conflict with the laws and regulations. Source

You guys have probably already come across this article that was published last week since it went viral on social media. It was pretty vague with no mention of the shop and what was actually removed. After doing a bit of research it turns out the shop in question was Louis Vuitton. I thought they might have had a special display to celebrate the LGBT+ community but I did a bit of googling and couldn’t find any information or photos on a special display LV was using in their stores for this.

So I decided to ask around locally and turns out the display that was deemed offensive was actually not related to the LGBT+ community at all. LV have a window display called the dream catcher which features colorful dream catchers and someone must have complained to consumer protection that LV was displaying the gay pride flag in their display and LV was forced to remove it. The picture above isn’t of the actual dream catcher window display that was removed but one similar I found online and as you can see the colors don’t even match the pride flag or the correct order of the colors. Yet, they were still asked to remove it. So weird.

Interesting the killjoys requesting the removal (because it’s SOOOO bad and causes bodily harm to mankind to show a rainbow) KNOW what the gay flag looks like, right? For a person so ‘out of that scene’ they seem pretty educated on it.

FYI you can get displays taken down REALLY easily in Kuwait. A single complaint usually is enough. That’s why you sometimes see some shops get away with something that another can’t – Christmas was another big one that used to be an auto-takedown

You know what I don’t like. Is that the rainbow is now forever associated with homosexuality. No matter context.

Ridiculous!!! Just because a luxury brand wants to create a visually strong window to enhance their product that will have been designed from lots of research on the latest visual concepts and trends and nothing to do with “PRIDE” it’s crazy!!!

So now anything rainbow related or multi-colored is deemed offensive because a close-minded person decided that. People here are seriously Fa’6yeen.

Rainbows were once a symbol of pure innocence and fun .. My kids grew and associated rainbows with cartoons like My little Pony . Magical Unicorns and Leprechauns hiding a pot of gold at the end of them but today that same rainbow if worn or seen in public is indicative of something not so innocent .. Today that very symbol brings out feelings of misunderstanding, bigotry, close-mindedness and racism

Honestly I have nothing against the LGBT community and I understand the symbolism of the rainbow representing the various shades of the gay community and all; but sometimes I just wish they had chosen something else other than the rainbow.

Its like there isn’t any more innocence left in the world.

I remember seeing those dreamcatchers and thought nothing of it. I can’t believe how sensitive people can be 😓

Hahaha so like anyone know whats the logic that all male gov schools for ages 4-16 are not illegal? Don’t those schools create more homosexuality than a brand just using some colors to decorate its store?

Seriously?

So many issues going on in the country, the region, and the world..

And yet, someone complains about THIS??? ….a store display…

Some joke.

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with the people who plan to apply for the gay rights movement in Kuwait?
I want to get in touch and be part of it.
