Here are instructions on how to make my favorite Ramadan dessert, I call it Chocolate Crescents.
1- you need a jar of nutella and a packet of Katayef. I don’t know what Katayef is in English but you can find them at Sultan Center
2- you take an Katayef and you spread chocolate on the back side and then you fold it in half and squeeze the two edges together
3- there is no step three, you are done

ewwwwww
Katayef and nutella, man thats the worst combination of food i ever heard
that was pretty simple wasnt it! I think anything with nutello for you is your favorite desert! hahaha!
you do realize you’re supposed to cook the katayef dont you? like fry or bake or something, otherwise its just a piece of sticky dough…
fry it! or at least bake it.
Well I played around with something similiar to that.
There’s this ready-made dough you get here in the supermarket. Basically, you just put the nutella inside the dough, roll it like a croissant, pop it in the oven, and wait.
It’s really good. I’m sure they have read-made i.e. made for men dough in Sultan Center…hehe :P~~
eeewww how can u eat them whithout cooking the qataif?!
i guess u love the nuttela balls @B+F
Raw Kataif is my favourite ramadan desert !! Keep on the good Gastronomy Brotha !!
yumm.. tha’ts the best thing ever. Also try it with peanut butter and nutella, and raw sugar. sooooooo yummy. my mom’s been making that since we were kids.
raw qatayif is da bestest…. and adding nutella makes it heavenly
i think u’ll have to cook that… madre!
PPL ! Katayef are pre-cooked. They are basically small pancakes. It is ok not to fry them. It just tastes better if you did. In this case just buy the biquick pancake mix in a bottle. Takes a few seconds to do those pancakes and add nutella while on pan then fold.
make sure you don’t eat too much or you’ll get stomach-ache ‘3eir shekel
Mark probably had the munchies while coming up with this recipe! 😉
I did the exact same thing on the first day of ramadan….bought those lil Katayef(now i know what its called..used to call em lil panackes:p) and coated it wt nutella…hmmmm….otherwise t lil pancake thing has no taste…
A popular dessert/snack in southern Italy is crepes with Nutella – very similar to your concoction. Sometimes we have crepes with nutella for breakfast. Yum.
its also very popular in lebanon. choco banan. chocolate, banana and crep. hmm yummy.
hehe looks yummy. gonna try it tonight. usually it the nutella crepe which was one thing i feeded on always in lebanon. One other thing i miss is the Kinder crepes
kinder crepes?? wtf is that, sounds really tasty..
crepes with kinder chocolate melted inside?
crepes with a big heart
Mark, I am an admirer of your creativity. infact, I have made a bit of modification to your dessert that I highly suggest you try. Try Using ” KRAFT’s, Cool Whipp, Frozen status” on top of the Nutella Qatayef. OMG!! Awsome!! Remember that the cream must be out of the freezer to capture the distignuish taste.
mmm Kinder Crepes. There’s a place next to my university in Lebanon that does em’ pretty good.
Also another good snack, Chocolate (Nutella) + Cheese in a crepe. Melted obviously. Tastes REALLY good.
hmmm
not a new invention,
they’re simply chubbier pancakes…
omar
Mark? …or Martha…
I am dying of thirst and then I blogged on here.. the idea of a spoon of nutella in a dry mouth just gave me heartburn! hahahaha
but gotta love the creativity
Rachael Ray eat your heart out 😛
