I haven’t had Internet since yesterday morning and it sucked! Last week I upgraded my connection with Qualitynet and I was on 2MB downstram and 512KB upstream set up. It was a very fast connection but it kept getting disconnected.
Well it seems the problem lies with my phone line. According to an engineer who called me up from Qualitynet, my line can handle something around 2.4MB down but only 288KB up so he had to downgrade my account down to 256kb up and 640kb down. It sucks since I got used to the 2MB connection but at least my connection is stable now. Tomorrow they are sending someone over to check the lines in my building and see if there is a way to solve it. I hope there is.

i told ya… try to up it to 1 meg and see if it works out…
at the moment i cant since 1MB downstream only comes with 512kb upstream and the upstream part is where i have the problem..
dude.. how far are you from the exchange?? 512k up shouldnt be a problem..
i dont know where the exchange is. maybe once the engineer comes over tomorrow i will find out.
your whole building should be changed since they share the same wiring … i hope that they would find you a solution đŸ˜‰
i am currently on my neighbour’s wireless bc for some fucking reason my connection crapped out just a few minutes ago.
i am going to give KEMS a shot as soon as subscription to Qnet is up.
Mark, are you paying KD120 a month for the 2MB connection?!!!
WOW 120KD for 2MB?
We pay 15KD for 10MB [CH]
2MB != 2Mbps ?
512KB != 512Kbps ?
dont confuse us.
How much are you paying for the 2MB speed?
ummm no. i subscribed to the 1MB connection which is KD40 a month but they have a special promo where the double your bandwidth for 3 months and thats how I got the 2MB/512KB setup..
Anyway, 2MB is for KD74 a month with qualitynet, plus you get a free laptop and wireless router.
Its not the distance .. its the line quality; a component engineer will be able to diagnose the source of issue (and hopefully fix it).
Qualitynet emailed me and mentioned that they’re doing maintenance on sunday and tuesday from 3am to 6am. But they started out early at around 8pm Sat. for some reason.
KEMS have always been good ~ since 1996 ~ until the last couple of months
When my 1 Mbps DSL subscription expired I bought Wataniya’s W-net Router I live in the city Transfer rates are 220-200 Kbps that’s almost twice the speed I used to get I paid 300Kd for one year in advance that’s 25kd per month its fast and reliable upload is acceptable.
Does Wataniya’s W-net Router service have a download limit per month like e-Go’s 5GB of MTC or is it unlimited?
