Flag Telecom has released a press bulletin with an updated status on the cut fiber links:
Cut # 1: FLAG EUROPE ASIA Cable cut between Alexandria (Egypt) and Palermo (Italy)
- The ship loaded with spares has reached the fault location and has initiated the repair work; the repair work is estimated to be completed within 6-7 days.
- The Mediterranean network will be fully resilient with the addition of FLAG Mediterranean Cable current under implementation.
- The cable cut was reported at 0800 GMT on January 30th 2008 around 8.3 Km away from Alexandria cable landing station between Egypt – Italy segment.
Cut # 2: FALCON Cable cut between Dubai (UAE) and Al SEEB (Oman)
- The ship loaded with spares, marine experts, and optical engineers have reached the site yesterday. The crew has recovered the one end of the cable and cable joining work is in progress.
- The repair team has observed steady progress and the repair work are expected to be completed in next 3 – 4 days.
- The weather conditions are not favorable but the crew is continuing with the repair process.
- The cable cut was reported at 0559 GMT on February1st 2008 around 56 Km from Dubai, UAE on segment between UAE and Oman.
We should expect internet to return to normal within the next week. The official press bulletin is updated daily and can be found [here].

Last time I checked .. the first two cuts are near Egypt .. the second two are in the Arabian Gulf and the fifth cut is out by Malaysia. There isn’t much detailed information regarding the specific cuts .. so I presume that the ones i listed in the post are the main causes for the outage.
i kinda find it funny when u said Arabian Gulf which doesn’t exist but never mind.
i cant believe how many cuts happened right after each other, i dun think its happened because of accidents or such, I’m guessing they were on purpose or something like that.
hate having high ms in online games, Imagen playing any game with 2k ms, it sucks.

Exactly these cuts have pretty much killed EQ or Warcraft now — especially if you in a raiding guild.
I can’t even connect online with my xbox360 (xbox live). Tells me MTU failed in the test connection.

Government officials say it’s an attempt to safeguard the values and morals of the Kuwaiti society and to preserve order and respect for law. The islamists extremists want to stop any and every critic.
They are getting ready to start creating laws that will take us back to the stone age, so they are getting ready to start controlling any media internet sites, and blogs that might harbour kuwaiti’s criticism.. they have just pushed for implementation of the segregation law, and have just threatened mp ali alrasheed with death because he criticised and wants to cancel this taliban style law of segregation in private universities. They have just announced that they’re moving on onto the private schools now.. trying to pass the segregation laws on all private schools and high schools soon!
They are now working on a very clever law that will make it illegal to criticize religion.. in which is hidden their real motives, which is a new weapon for them to use against any critcism. This is what is happening to our democracy, were turning into a saudi arabia or iran, or god forbid.. afghanistan.
These people allow no criticism, and do not accept other peoples opinion.. its simply my way (because they claim its god’s words) or you should be punished because you are a “kafir”. This is the sad state of affairs, and it is getting worse.

ah anyway Yup no WoW sucks, but good thing im new to WoW so its ok, i only play with 2 of my friends, so we all now in INN logged off rising the bounce exp till the my connection is fixed so we can play again, dam we tried BFT but since i had high ms(over 2k ms) i fucked up and with first boss and healer was AFK so we died, (we usually do those dungeon with just 3 of us, Tank,Mage(Me),Priest)
