Oman completely blows all its neighbors out of the water coming in at 13th place.
1 – United Stated of America (147 visa free countries)
1 – United Kingdom (147 visa free countries)
7 – Canada (140 visa free countries)
13 – Oman (134 visa free countries)
47 – United Arab Emirates (72 visa free countries)
52 – Qatar (66 visa free countries)
54 – Kuwait (64 visa free countries)
57 – Saudi Arabia (61 visa free countries)
59 – India (59 visa free countries)
61 – Bahrain (61 visa free countries)
64 – Egypt (53 visa free countries)
73 – Lebanon (44 visa free countries)
Check out the full list [Here]
Update: It seems they had made a mistake with Oman’s ranking, they’ve updated the list and Oman is now ranked 63 (54 visa free countries). Bahrain was also moved to position 57. Not sure if any other changes were made.
Thanks Musaed

I wonder if I should email them with a picture of my Lebanese passport, the picture that they have of it looks awful.
Don’t worry about it, being there with North Korea is distracting enough not to notice it !
That’s weird Mark, according to your article here in 2010:
https://248am.com/mark/interesting/kuwait-tops-arab-countries-in-visa-free-rankings/
The Kuwaiti passport was first with 71 countries. Did we lose seven countries in five years?
According to The Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index 2014, Kuwaiti passport is the most powerful Arab passport with the least visa restrictions
https://www.henleyglobal.com/files/download/hvri/HP%20Visa%20Restrictions%20Index%20141101.pdf
the Henley and Partners Index is more reliable than that random website ‘passportindex.org’ (Mark’s source)
then again, things change frequently and 2014 was last year
december 2014 was recent. Henley & Partners Index circulated in the media more than the passportindex.org
Henley & Partners Index was mentioned in Vice, Business Insider, New York Times, Reuters, Huffington Post, Daily Mail and more
passportindex.org was just mentioned in Washington Post (blog) and few others
41 🙁
As a “147 National”, I think “convenient” would be a better term than “powerful”.
The article is completely inaccurate. Oman does not have access to 134 countries without a visa. In fact, the Kuwaiti passport ranks first among the GCC.
^ seems like someone got their feelings hurt.
Not sure about 134 countries, but india offers visa on arrival to Omani national..
Good thing i got 3 passports! And one of them is top of the list!
i don’t know how the canadian passport can still be so strong?! Everyone has one and they give them out like candy!!
Iam an american citizen AND I would LOVE to have Canadian citizenship.
For the following reasons:
Better economy
Tighter gun control
Free healthcare
Can you please explain to me what you mean by saying ….”Everyone has one” ???
Feel free to go the Consul Section of the US Embassy and renounce your US Citizenship. Need a ride?
I do not intend on renouncing my american citizenship.
What makes you throw a comment like that anyways????!!!!Just because i am comparing Canada to the US ???!!!!!
If you are an american YOU Would know that Canada is much better.
really? you got butthurt from that?
American patriots are so yawn
Used to “give them out like candy”??! Well, not anymore. Tighter restrictions and control, making it a lot harder to obtain the citizenship and NOT everyone has one! Those who do the Canadian passport should count their blessings.
I love my Canadian passport
Mark you are lucky to have one.
You are absolutely right Jeff.
Let me give you an example.
According to the new law , to get Canadian Citizenship through investment , you have to be worth at least $10 million dollars.
Anyone knows whats the convention for passport colors? Most of the western countries passports (with notable exception of US) seem to be red, or shades of red.
For the US: Red/Maroon ones are for Government officials travelling on official business. Diplomatic ones are black. There was also a special green one for the bicentennial of the adoption of the Constitution. Blue is for private citizens.
In 1980, The Canadian Government gave a half-dozen passports to the CIA to extract U.S. diplomats from Tehran, where Islamic radicals had stormed the American embassy.
Canada has always been a good friend to the US. The movie wasn’t bad either. 🙂
Seems to be inaccurate:

We are also -hopefully- trying to add the schengen area to the list, which is gonna be a huge jump & add 26 more countries to the list.
If the information about Omani passport is correct, I’m willing to bet that Oman does not grant the passport to its citizens so easily.
the rankings on the link doesn’t seem to match the ones you posted, mark. oman is ranked 63, kuwait 54 (not top from GCC countries).
It must have been updated then because when I posted this it was ranked 13.
