Arby’s and Wendy’s coming to Kuwait

According to a news article dated June of this year, the Arby’s and Wendy’s franchises for the Middle East and North Africa were taken by a Saudi conglomerate. This sadly means the first branches which are scheduled to open early 2010 won’t be in Kuwait but will be in Saudi.

Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc. (NYSE: WEN) today announced an agreement with Saudi Arabia-based Al Jammaz Group to build 135 dual-branded Wendy’s® and Arby’s® restaurants in nine countries in the Middle East and North Africa over the next decade.

Another food franchise?

When will we celebrate the opening of something more intellectually stimulating than restaurants (and clothing shops) here in Kuwait?

The people are being sedated by all the food.

Bringing the right food franchise is the safest bet, when it comes to running a business in Kuwait!!

The Food industry is the only thriving business here, all the major fast food joints are making some good promotions which means even during recession times people tend to eat more junk…..

As long as people strike a good balance between healthy food and junk food it’s fine.

It’s really sad to see young guys n gals with a body that looks more like assets and liabilities.

Now I understand why they call Kuwait – “Fast Food Nation”
(am finally beginning to see the light). Bring in more of the Arby’s and Wendy’s to Q8 and before long what have you – a “Super Size Me” Nation as well.

There were already Arby’s and Wendy’s in Kuwait in the past, Burger King is better than both but all of you should be trying out all the different restaurants we have instead of relying on the same old franchises over and over. Nothing unintellectual about enjoying real, quality cuisine.

Mark, you should start guiding people to the good health. Please read this link. I’m sorry we are trying to get rid of all this American junk food, so would you like to buy their trash fooling all of you. I don’t think any one of your readers would like to eat all the leftover meat ground/grind into hamburger, even if they have the plant in one of the gulf area you think they care.

When you read the link and what people comment then think considering that mostly the educated people who read NY Times. I’m just trying to protect you guys from what people are suffering over here. By the way the spices cover all the hidden yuk meat and they use the cheapest oil,,, so be smart before they get your brain addicted to such ! You are still the owner of your belly….

the next decade? Kuwait was the first country in the region to have every one of those restaurants decades ago! now we have to wait another decade after they open in every other country to have Arby’s? This is BS!
