this doesn’t look like a police car .. if anything .. they gray lined cars are usually labelled “public safety” .. rather than the blue and ugly yellow “Traffic” police cars..
ugly, very ugly !!
It would be great if they would actually give them to the CID officers who really need them out in the field and not their managers who sit behind a desk (and give their PetroNet cards to their wives).
Maybe they can even turn them over after a few years for newer cars instead of keeping dilapitated MOI cars on the roads for 20 years when similar cars belonging to the expat community can’t pass an equal vehicle inspection to receive a registration renewal.
Many officers in the field must either must – or choose to – use their personal vehicles; and if they are involved in an accident (for example: a criminal trying to escape and crashing into their car), the officers must pay from their own pockets to have their cars fixed.
So yeah, in short, who cares what car the MOI has procurred as long as it runs, is safe on the road, and gets the job done.
What do the guys driving have to do? Are they just like cops?
Desert girl the CID officers should be able to afford top of the line sports cars with all the confiscated drugs and liquor they sell.
These cars are for MOI employees (Investigators/technicians..etc).
Yup, saw one today while driving to work.
shno farg’hom 3n eldawreyat ?
umm, new ? I’ve been seeing those for like a year now ? or was it the same car driving by me everyday while they were testing it ? 😛
It is as Lucky_Boy said, not for the police, hence no lights.
They are just service vehicles used in a pool or given to cerain employees who’s job requiers going around. They have been around for a long time & they are replaced every year or tow with whatever brand wins the rental contract.Usually within the same range of Mazda 6
and BTW if the driver is an officer & not civilian then he will put up a portable blue flash light to chase or make way
They haven’t been around for a long time only a month now. Before that they were still driving around in decade old Nissan bluebirds.
