The Toyota Prius Now Available in Kuwait

prius

The Prius is Toyota’s Hybrid car (electric + fuel combo) thats pretty popular in the US and surprisingly is being introduced and launched in Kuwait. I say surprisingly because Prius owners usually tend to buy the car to save on fuel costs which we really don’t have an issue with here. The Prius is available now starting from KD8,200 and from tomorrow will be on display at The Avenues for the next week.

I’m not knocking the Prius or other hybrid cars but we’re talking about a situation here where a person will leave his Yukon or Tahoe with the engine running while he goes into a bakala to get juice and cigarettes or the most common scene where you have a driver left in the car with the engine and AC running for one hour while his sponsor family goes for lunch at the mall.

As long as fuel is 65 fils/liter there’s not going to be an incentive for people to think about reducing fuel consumption.

LoL, who the hell would buy a Prius in Kuwait.
The last place on earth you would buy one.
I’d assume only the delusional “im going to help the planet”
person would.

Actually if you think about it…it will help Kuwait by helping reduce the cost of subsidies atleast in the clean petrol it imports with money it makes from selling barrels more of crude oil. So if most commuter cars become Priusest or fuel saving cars in Kuwait is best for Kuwait along with its new refineries being built in due time to boost export figures.

Change is inevitable, more and more people in the State of Kuwai think seriously of the future of The country. This brand new model is somehow not attractive but it has a lot of safety and comfort features that make it saleable.

If the Prius is here can the Tesla be far behind? Await the unveiling of the Tesla @ the Grand Hamra downtown.

I actually like the Prius, a little on the dorky looking side but still alright. They should start bringing out the Tesla, now that would be cool.
