The new Apple iPhone 11 launched in the US a couple of days ago but the official launch date for Kuwait is currently set for the 27th of September unless there is a delay with shipping. Some of my favorite Apple Authorized Resellers where you’ll be able to purchase the new iPhone are Alpha Store, Digits, Gait and Xcite. All four are expected to sell the phones for the same price, but some might include additional freebies with the phone. Below are the expected prices of the new iPhone 11:
iPhone 11
64GB: KD250
128GB: KD268
256GB: KD303
iPhone11 Pro
64GB: KD358
256GB: KD411
512GB: KD483
iPhone11 Pro Max
64GB: KD393
256GB: KD446
512GB: KD519

I knew a guy who bought a car for less than KD519 once
My last car was bought for KD 500! 😀
Consumerism is hitting hard!
those lens look like wall-e or something fugly indeed… :.
more like a stove if you ask me
Didn’t expect the entry level 11 to be that expensive
It’ll probably go down in price by the time the next iPhone rolls out.
Yeah but for an “Entry Level” iPhone I would just buy an older gen, it’s not like those stop going on sale
Samsung phones tend to lose their values a lot more than iphones do, last years note 9 with 512gb storage and 8gb ram is going for 178kd right now which is insane.
The 11pro max 256gb is for $1,250 from Apple store. That’s KD 388. Why would the authorized reseller be allowed to sell it at KD 446 ? That’s a crazy price hike which Apple should prevent any authorized resellers from doing. There are no taxes or customs on phones, and shipping is actually cheaper from China to Kuwait. Also the authorized distributors buy in bulk and already get a reduced rate per phone. This might seriously be a case where the distributor is making more per phone than Apple (I think on the iPhone X Apple was making $220 profit on each phone).
Can we directly order it from apple and have it shipped here through posta plus, shop and ship etc..?
Yes u can
Doesn’t it require a US credit card Mark? Or is there a way around this?
Your calculation are a bit off.
iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB = $1,249
Tax: $82.75
Shipping: KD10
Total: Approx KD414
Price in Kuwait: KD446
Difference: KD32
So it’s KD32 more expensive in Kuwait which is probably because the purchasing power here is higher than in the US.
actually if there is custom fees for phones then 5% of 404 is around KD20. That would bring the difference between Kuwait and US prices down to 12 KD.
Yeah but there isn’t a customs charge for phones or laptops.
Laptops there isn’t any fees but for phones I think there is

I bought my Lincoln Town Car for 300 lol
Other way around… purchasing power is higher in the US based on your example
How so? If purchasing power was higher in the US then they would sell the phones for less over here not the other way around.
well the explanation probably isn’t purchasing power . Purchasing power comes down to how much a unit of a given currency can get you.
Look up the big mac index, pretty cool.
Hard to justify these prices with what the Chinese are coming up with, even in terms of design. They don’t need to copy Apple anymore.
That’s what people have been saying about Apple since the 90s though…
Don’t know what people were saying in the 90s, but yeah Samsung and Chinese companies were copying the iPhone design for the last decade. The past couple of years though they surpassed Apple with design and innovation and they took a lot of market share from Apple. Apple is just playing catchup nowadays, and perhaps they did do some things better, but at the moment Samsung and Chinese companies have truly surpassed with their screens and designs. It seems Apple are throwing R&D money or TV, video games and entertainment these days…

Huawei released their Mate 30 Pro for Euro 1099 (approx $1200) so not exactly cheap. And it does not even have access to Google Services.
Last year I saw P20 Pro for 1000 Euro (333 KD in today’s exchange, probably more last year). Then I got to Kuwait and bought it for around 200KD. In all cases, still cheaper than iPhone Pro.
You’re calculating it from the standpoint of ‘should I order online or buy it here’. That’s not what I was talking about.
I’m wondering why would Apple allow the pre-tax list price of its phone at an authorized distributor to be so much higher than their own price. The fact that Kuwait has no sales tax or customs on phones should not mean that the distributers profits makes up the difference (and then some). Apple is in competition with other phones like Samsung for marketshare. The distributor cares much less about that than Apple does. Apple is making less per phone than xcite, and they are losing market share as well. Seems extremely bad oversight by Apple over its distributers.
You can’t compare the price of the phone without Tax in the US with the price in Kuwait. You can’t buy the phone without tax so that number isn’t real. Also it’s not the local resellers setting the price for Kuwait, Apple is.
iPhone Pro Max 256GB UK price is KD492 which is like 50KD more expensive than Kuwait
“Also it’s not the local resellers setting the price for Kuwait, Apple is.”
Was that intentional or a typo? I dont think Apple is setting these prices, because they dont dictate that. They set the minimum but the retailer’s margin, taxes et al are outside Apple’s control.
Nope not a typo. Apple sets the MSRP which is why all the authorized dealers sell them for the same price.
Love my iPhone and always looking out for everything Apple but this time even I’m not interested at all. Nothing new this time around and usual BS usage of words such as “faster, fluid, pro, best, lightning” etc etc. 😒
In fact I’m very pleased (and confident) my Xs should serve me well for the next 2-3 years! 😁
PS. Many in Kuwait already have the 11, saw some dude selling the booger green for 450kd 🤦🏻♂️
Well depends at how you look at it. If you look at the iPhone as a camera that can make calls and browse the web than the upgrade could be worth it. That was my reason for upgrading to the XS from the X and my reason for upgrading to the 11 Pro from the XS.
“In fact I’m very pleased (and confident) my Xs should serve me well for the next 2-3 years!”
Notwithstanding the fact that Apple made on ‘2-year planned obsolescence’ of their phones, iPhones do last for 3 years on average and sometimes 4th as well.
Yes, Apple does throttle CPU on older phones with every subsequent iOS release (they just admitted to doing that for XR, XS and XS Max for iOS 13), but to a majority of the users, the phones should be good for 3 years.
Xcite is not an authorized reselle for Apple phones.
According to Apple they are.

Hi Mark,
Any chances of prices to come down in the near future or these prices will stay for long.
hmmm not sure, how much are the current phones selling in comparison to when they launched?
Aah, here we go again! Wasn’t there a detailed discussion on this over at Reddit? I recall Mark vehemently defended Xcite there, despite the OP providing Apple’s evidence to the contrary!
There was a detailed discussion about this but I was the one that provided evidence not the OP. Apple lists all the Authorized Apple dealers in Kuwait on their website and its accessible to anyone including yourself.
Visit this link
https://locate.apple.com/kw/en/
Go to the “Apple Authorized Resellers” section, enter a local city like “kuwait city” and select iPhone as a product and then click “Go”.
If you disagree with Apple’s list of authorized resellers and want to send them a complaint then visit https://www.apple.com/contact/
I’m not throwing my money on a phone with no 5g. They didn’t add it this year but made this model a lot better so you purchase this model due to it’s vast improvements compared to previous models and purchase next year’s model which will barely have any improvements other than having 5g I can already see it “THE FIRST EVER IPHONE WITH 5G!!” *idiots clam and cheer*. I’m not playing that game with a company that prides itself on being cutting edge. What concerns me is that tech websites are defending Apple, none talks about how even Huawei cares more about it’s user’s health (bluelight reduction) than these people.
Apple will be face the Nokia treatment very soon
Yeah people have been saying that since the iPhone 3
People are continuously in denial about Apple. Apple will never fail in the foreseeable future, they’re too powerful for that to happen + they have the most loyal customers
Also, Apple makes the best products, especially the iPhone, whether people are willing to accept this or not ._.
Totally Agree.
No matter what shit people say ( Apple has less Ram / No SD Card & Many other shit comparisons to a 60KD Phone with 6Gb ram ) the simple fact is because they can’t afford it.
I have been an Honest fan of iPhone since 2012 when I actually could afford it and never looked back.
4 GB of ram in the iPhone 11, yet still faster than any other phone in the market 🤷🏽♂️
I’m still on the iPhone 6 which is serving me well. I can’t justify the cost of a new iPhone when mine works well and don’t care about others saying it is old etc. But to each his own.
iphone 11pro max very much expensive 😭😭😭😭😭💸💸💸😪
