iPhone is out.. yada yada yada

iphone

Yeah iPhone is out but..

– No 3G meaning if you decide to surf the web its using the incredibly lame speed of EDGE which makes it outdated before the phone is even released (wifi is cool in the US but in Kuwait not really useful)

– Only works with US Cingular network for now meaning it won’t work in Kuwait

– Cheapest version of iPhone costs $500 and thats with the 2 year Cingular contract. How much will the unlocked version of the phone cost? $800?

– In the pictures it looks as big as an Apple Newton

– Would I end up getting one? Yeah probably

ME TOO !

No different to anything i-mate has been doing with WM5 for a while… plus no design with a numeric keypad/T9 which will give it limited sales in Europe and Asia where people SMS a lot.

It has a virtual qwerty keyboard, and the screen is big, i think typing will be easier since ur gonna use ur fingers, but thats also another problem, apple better make fingerprint-free screen!

The specs are a bit outdated, but the OS seems very nice and the sensor thing is a bit cool.

Too much though for the specs mentioned.

Will I get it? No. Because it doesnt work in kuwait.

It will work in Kuwait. All phones (with the possible exception of some CDMA-only phones) work in Kuwait, as these days they’re at least all GSM band compatible (EU and US bands).

I still don’t think a QWERTY keyboard – however big – will be as easy to use or as responsive as a dedicated keypad with T9 for texts. I got rid of my O2 ATOM for that very reason.

menon, yes it runs GSM but it will be LOCKED onto the US Cingular network. They have a deal with Cingular and the phone will run exclusively on their network. Unless someone manages to come up with a hack for it that will unlock the phone it will only work in the US.

Armani, WLAN means Wifi. You cant make voice calls with WIFI unless they have skype or something for the phone. Wifi will be used mostly for internet access but in kuwait wifi spots are limited and not cheap.

i’ll probably wait it out for while …
i hate getting things just when they r launched …
firmware updates … patches … and stuff …
2nd gen will be better and cheaper …
but yeah, the phones kinds kewl n sexy …
way to go apple …

Make new friends But keep the old

i think you all have been through a similure sitation when a friend has found what he/she thinks is the love of his/her life, and totaly cuts off all other communication with the ppl who were there through thick n thin…only to find out that the love was short ended and the attraction is gone

its never good to sacrifise and forget a good friend “loyal customer” when YOU ”apple” are so emerced and concintrating on a recent new found LOVE with Cingular while in the process limiting your atention to the rest of the apple community who have been behind ”apple” for years even when it wasnt considered cool to own a MAC…

You can make a friend but you don’t have to loose the ones you have in the process!

plz exuze the sbelling mistakes…Mark if u can find a way to have spell check in the reply box it would be great for us “Alphbeticaly Chalanged” 😛

any way u have to wait untill 2008.. now its available only in USA. when they release in kuwait, they w’ll make everything working condition.. dont worry

When on earth can we buy it!!!??
and it will be great if someone finds out if it will work in kuwait !
thanx mark!!

guys i have a questiion. will it work in kuwait if i get it from states and wat r the chances that it will?
