A reader sent me these pictures of a burnt Ferrari 360 he found on the 40th. Doesn’t look like it was involved in an accident. So sad.
I wonder if its the same car as this one listed on Q8car [Link]
Thanks Khalid

It’s an old Ferrari that cost about 10.000 KD now, if it was the same one as Q8car no wonder it got burned, A Ferrari was never meant to be driven 150.000 KM if it did it means it was driven by multiple people (resold multiple times) and my guess some owners used cheap fixes by local garages to avoid the super expensive maintenance cost (a service for Ferrari can cost multiple thousands KD easily)
To drive a Ferrari Past 130.000 KM for a single owner it means you are SUPER rich to be able to pay the maintence cost, if you had that money you wouldn’t drive a 2000 Car (15 years old model)
Plenty of people are like “lol 10.000 KD Ferrari ! I’M BUYING !) they face reality
TIP : The older the Ferrari the more expensive is the service/maintenance in any Wekalah for Ferrari

As a Ferrari F430 owner is it like ridiculously expensive to maintain? There is this beautiful 2007 black on black f430 with 12,000km on the dial selling for 29,000 on q8car i found the other day https://kuwait.q8car.com/en/cars/ferrari/f_430/2007/217717/itemdetails.aspx
How much say does an oil change cost or a major service?
Oil change is not what you worry about
Need ceramic brakes replacements? it Costs 10.000 KD (Yes 10.000 not 1000)
Need new Clutch? 2000 KD (YOU WILL need one every 15.000 KM average, sometimes less depends on your drive, if you use Automatic you replace it at faster rate )
Major Services 2.000 KD is average (Because generally they find things that need to be fixed/replaced)
Of course you also have to worry about leaks, Tires, Insurance, Depreciation, cracking exhaust issues, brake pads, etc
If you want just as good of a car get a Porsche, reliable and cheap to maintain (Compared to Ferrari)
Mercedes AMG and BMW M, the new Corvette C7 are also good options for performance/value
Even one of the best car journalists made the mistake~

I have another car, F430 is just my weekend car so it doesn’t cost me much to maintain so after all it can be quite fun and all as long as the person doesn’t make it his daily drive car and expect it to be cheap
Ha! That’s just crazy, I guess it’s a Cayman or F-Type for me.
Both are great Choices, you can’t go wrong with the new cayman, Thinking of replacing my second car (Mercedes) with the new Cayman but GTS version (Coming this summer)
The F-type isn’t exactly cheap to maintain either. Porsche is definitely a better option.
Mark, wait for the F-Type Coupe.
That’s what I meant
BTW 29,000 is super expensive for that car, it should be around 20,000 now plus minus 2000
Today I Learned to never buy a used Ferrari
Should you maybe screen the car’s plate number?
It’s his car’s license plate number which is meant to be very visible and public, it’s not his ATM pin code.
Mark your doing a mistake. You must cover the number plate.
We discussed this on the forums. Some owners don’t want it public.
You can discuss it with whomever you want as much as you want but license plate numbers are public and not private and are clearly displayed on cars.
Mark, Stanjohn may be correct; cos in my country you cannot show the number plate of accident car and if you do so the owner can sue you.
Thankfully Kuwait is a free and democratic country.
+1
Maybe he should not drive his car in public if he doesn’t want his car and license plates to be seen in public.
what if the owner does not want his ride to be displayed on your blog ?
I’m not sure if there is any law against such things but better to be safe than sorry.
I know that we can’t just post pics of people randomly online, maybe the same thing applies to car’s as well. Just check with your lawyer.
The only logical reason of why he should cover the license plate is in case of serious injury or death.
Probably it is the worst thing to find out about the death or injury of your loved ones like this on the internet. Especially if u’re away or abroad and just happened to open one of those social media services.
This Ferrari incident… is not that kind of incidents. clearly this sports car was parked on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with no signs of any incident other than it caught fire.
The only reason to justify why the owner would not want this picture to be online is because he does not want to be confirmed as an ass in front of his friends. We all know he’s an ass, his friends knows it, and even he knows it too. But now its confirmed by everyone.
I don’t think it’s fair to call the owner of this car an ass.
Let’s not jump to conclusions without knowing facts. If anything it could have been even Ferrari’s fault. We all know how much it likes to catch itself on fire 😛
I know its unfair, but embarrassment was the only assumption I could think of for why the owner would not want a picture of this car be posted online ;p
I suppose before paying 10K for a used car, you’d at least take it for inspection at a garage like the Golden Sands? Which as I understand guarantees his car reports and would refund you the full car price if his reports were wrong.
Its the reader, ‘Khalid’ who took the picture and sent it to Mark who then posted it on his blog.
Maybe they should sue Khalid or better yet, confiscate the device that was used to take this picture 😀
*disclaimer*
I’ve got nothing against the aforementioned individuals. Just throwing out some options 😉
I disagree with such actions. A more logical one would be seizing the servers that host the images and deport the service providers for not screening contents going through their network.
Kuwait’s a funny country Mathai. The next thing you know , they sue all of us for commenting on a burnt Ferrari, all thanks to Khalid.
+1 3azeez ,even better !
Seeing the photos on q8car were taken in the freetrade zone, I think I know who it belonged to… Ahem, if it is the car that Im thinking of, then yes it did belong to a wealthy IT guy
At least it wasnt a Tesla… LOL! 😀
I took pics of it this morning too
