Girls on the Gulf Road

I take the Gulf Road all the time and when you’re on it as much as I am you get to witness a lot of weird things (guy sitting on a Porsche for example). The other night while heading home from the gym I saw a Camaro on the Gulf Road with a girl sitting outside the car dancing as the car was speeding down the road. You just need to be a girl driving on the Gulf Road to attract the attention of the guys who cruise up and down the road endlessly for a living so you can imagine the attention she was getting.

But something unexpected happen, we stopped at traffic and the Mustang pictured above pulled up to the Camaro and I was thinking this guy is obviously going to hit on her like crazy, but instead the guy ended up telling the girl off. I guess he must have embarrassed her because she stopped dancing and actually ended up going back inside and sitting down. I managed to capture the photo above as she was going back in and as the guy in the Mustang was about to drive off. Goes to show not every guy in a Mustang on the Gulf Road is a jerk.

You mean dancing on the hood? If yes, she should’ve been checked for drugs/alcohol abuse.

Btw the guy in the Mustang must’ve been her dad.

I have a black Camaro, but just for the record, that was NOT MINE and I don’t dance unless there is a pole (just kidding!) 🙂

Good for the guy in the Mustang; although I’m 99.9% sure that if it were a young man “on display” – he never would have considered saying something to him.

(Instantcravings) and what is wrong with mid-life “crisis” and buying a cool car (especially when so many people here get married young and miss all that). Judgy judgy. Live and be happy. I would think the car would qualify for the “instantcravings” category…. 🙂 It did for me. I wasn’t happy, saw that pretty black car on a lot and BAM! Instantly satisfied. 6 gears and 20″ rims make me happier than most things in my life! (Car enthusiasts will understand.)

Is it my imagination or are young “ladies” becoming a lot more aggressive than the young men lately?? Did you notice that she is wearing a muscle shirt? Do you think that was the shirt-before-the-shirt (Jersey Shore reference for those of you who don’t get it).

My source is me and 20 years living here. BAM. Not embarrassed for me as much as for Mark as he’s got more A-hole commentors than anyone in blogsphere. But just my opinion; not at all related to stats.

I’m so sorry that I didn’t buy a car that is considered an approved car for a female (going through menopause as you believe) to drive. I should have consulted this blog before I bought a car that I enjoy driving and has such high safety, resale, and reliability ratings.

As for the dancing. It’s just plain wrong, wether it’s a guy or a girl. It’s dangerous, tacky, and classless. It’s the kind of thing 3agad people do.

Kudus for the Mustang driver though, beats all the other times where guys leer their head into your car ogling. Bravo.

No ones telling her not to dance, but what she’s doing is dangerous and idiotic. She can dance inside the car, with her seatbelt fastened, not sitting on the outside attracting unwanted attention.

I hope the guy told her “hey! U r a shame to our kind.. go in and act decently… I know from which family you are. Lol” for sure she learned her lesson well.

Saw the same thing a few weeks ago near the Parliament building, this time it was a beat up old S Class. The girl was sitting on the door and there were guys driving up with their cellphones to take a shot of her exposed back.

Guy’s , Desertgirl is complaining about you guy’s on her FB. Some are even complaining why Mark did not moderate the comments.

I feel if anyone’s comments should have been moderated it should have been her’s.

DG’s FB status made me to come and see whats going on.. Seriously? she becomes racist on what exactly? by ‘assuming’ the nationality of the driver? who has a doubt in that? Almost every single Kuwaiti home has a Indian driver.
its not like maligning the nationality or anything we also know there are very qualified Indians working out here i also know some Indians who are working in Kuwait and very well-off (by many Kuwaities).
its a BLOG! share your views and stop labeling anyone as racist who’s view is different.

We’ll.. Imagine if we generalise all the Arabs regardless if they are Kuwaiti, Egyptian Syrian etc? That’s what most of us Indians feel when u think that every brown skinned person is an Indian. + DG claims to have statistics to support her perpetuating stereotypes. So what’s wrong in calling that bluff? Doesn’t amount to racism.. I would expect someone like DG who prides herself in being liberal and enlightened to vigorously fight against such stereotypes.. Not perpetuate them. Now that is the issue. Not that there are no Indian drivers.

i am not DG’s defender but the truth is she was ‘Assuming’ that it was driven by an Indian ‘maybe’ and if you want to debate on this then i am sorry every single one of us knows the most drivers are Indians (>80%) and there’s nothing BAD in it!

There is absolutely nothing bad in it. The first job i got paid for was to unload cartons from a truck. and Im proud of it. I realize that people like you are not even capable to understand the seriousness of my point. Stereotyping is bad. Period. Stereotyping leads to a deeply entrenched social bias, which subsequently manifests in the worst ways imaginable. Ever heard about ‘Random checks’ in airports? Thats one of the mildest consequences.

Here is something. Anyone who does this be they brown, white, rocking a hooha or tally whacker is a doofus. But everyone knows Gulf road on the weekends is a sausage fest where so many dudes do this or show out on their bikes while people act as if nothing is wrong… The second a woman does it people freak out. Double standard tsk tsk
